Man, I hope all of you with high hopes for Bloom, aren't devastated

Yeah, everyone sounds like they are excited to see Bloom start to implement his plans- and they are- until they realize Bloom's plans are not the same as their plans. I expect him to be much, much better at talent evaluation, much, much better about choosing a direction and sticking to it, much, much better about communicating with the fans- but fans may be disappointed with the pace, or his aversion to risk. I'm just waiting for them to lose their minds when he acquires someone they have never heard of.

I am hopeful, but we will see...

2026- Re-shape the roster
2027- Compete for wildcard
2028- Compete for Division title
2029- Compete for deep playoff run

This is conservative and I think the new front office can expedite these timelines.

2026:
C.Bloom weeds out the deadwood players via DFA and makes trades to remove NADO & possibly Gray (I think WillyC stays).

He also makes a BIG deal using Donny for a starting pitcher.

Team finishes above .500

2027:
As long as the CBA gets settled, BDWJr gives Bloom a decent payroll of at least $170M to add pieces not currently in the system and the team competes not only for a WC but the NLC.

Attendance bounces back above 2.7M.

2028:
Player development system starts to funnel quality players to the Cardinals and the team is set for a decent playoff run for many years!

Attendance once again tips 3+M!

Seriously.....by nature I lean to being an optimist.
But I can certainly see why fans could lean toward pessimism.
I like your timeline.
Interesting offseason ahead for sure.
Fingers crossed that the turnaround with players like JJ, McGreevy, Doyle, the young Catchers, etc etc is in motion.

Same here, I only go negative when I see the team going in the wrong direction (re: Mo & his poor manager choices).

I'm really pumped for this Winter wanting to see Bloom enact his roster plans.
