Nice interview. Didn’t realize Tommer was a dad. He sounds really pumped for the season and for the youth on the way. Spoke quite highly of Monty, Buch, Kyrou and many others as well. Hopefully he can have a good season and make the Canadian Olympic team.

I also didn’t realize he was a dad. But the boys seem pumped for this season. One thing i have realized is how much it seems like players go out of there way to give kyrou some flowers. I wonder if that is generally how they feel, or if they are just trying to throw him a bone in convo. All in all very happy for tommer and im excited that the boys.
Ps- i am not as deep into the organization as some here but something in interview did make me think. Normally in interviews you don’t get a lot of talk about up-and-coming players and young guys unless directly asked a question. My understanding is nhl core guys don’t necessarily indulge in our prospect ranks unless givingba media appropriate answer. Tommer seemed to gush about our young guys and the ones on the way. I just dont normally see a answer like that and itvdidntvseem rehearsed. Could bevreading into nothing. But definitely pumped for the season!!! LGB

Very very easy to like Thomas. Good teammate. Hockey nerd, etc.
Very hard to like the interviewer. Who asks someone to call out specific people on the team? How was Thomas supposed to answer that without hurting numerous teammate feelings? Thomas handled it pretty well, but it was a lousy situation to be put him in. I thought it was also poor form to go on-and-on about Kucherov and McKinnon as well. Ummm. Let's talk about Thomas, please.

On the Road ... I'm imagining Kerouac writing about his impressions of a hockey game ...

I picked up on that too. My guess is he mostly had Snuggerud in mind when he was saying that. I recall a story, I think it was JR but could’ve been one of the others, wrote that many of the Blues vets were really impressed with Snuggs’ details in practice and performance in the first few games and Thomas went to Monty and asked for Snuggs to be on his line in practice. That’s what got Snuggs promoted to Thomas’ line. Or at least part of it. The other part would be Holloway getting injured in Snuggs’ 2nd ever NHL game and thus Monty having to mix up lines anyway.Younghopp1991 wrote: ↑26 Sep 2025 04:37 am I also didn’t realize he was a dad. But Tommer was clearly impressed with Snuggerud and wanted to play with him. Which honestly, is quite the compliment to say about a rookie after just a couple games and maybe a week’s worth of practices.
