fwiw my read on this tangent he theo is aware of the painful surgery and is joking because there have proven to be some shenanigans around the league ... I mean Doug lucked out because the GOAT GM did contract himself into paying Krug millions this year and next and thus fate saved some of what was basically an indefensible signing. I think the convenience of this led to a joke, but nobody thinks Krug faked painful ankle surgery
Yeah you don’t know what you’re talking about. Krug’s surgeon is a 2nd cousin of the guy who did Stone’s 2 back “surgeries.”
I’m sick of it all. The NHL is a joke. Nobody is buying it.
I admit it I hadn't heard of this extended family business, sounds lucrative. must be one hell of a thanksgiving with all the filthy lucre

Or like Alex Pietrangelo, these guys are playing at the limits of what humans should be enduring for over a decade of intense physical training and competition. That kind of constant use and abuse of the human body has tolls on the long term functionality of an individual. And we should respect the players for their competitive abilities and their careers.
Yup. Go back and watch the Vegas run alone. He was targeted in every series and subjected to so much abuse. It was very intense.
Then you have psychological and life stuff that impacts us all. On Petro’s case alone you can’t have kids and are hurt…then boom you have triplets. Boom one is fighting for her life. Dude needs to write a book

yep the way he dealt with being targeted in that run esp by Edmonton's top skilled players completely impressed me. he gave it right back, precisely countering the (ridiculous IMO) critique that such an exceptional leader and Cup champion captain was soft

He reminded me of Pronger in that run. World class chirping and pushing back physically. Outside of losing his cool on Draisaitl…but that ended up being a positive for Vegas anyways. Every panther took a piece out of him. It was a collective effort
You two should meet up in a motel somewhere near the border (you guys live kind of close by right?) and spoon while gushing over how "impressed" you are with Putridangelo and how he should write a book.

Fate also conspired in MAKING Torey Krug vastly overpaid. I mean, Krug was never going to live up to the contract he got, but he was still a far better defenseman for much of his career than the broken-down version we saw the last few years here.
