OU QB Mateer has hand surgery, out indefinitely

That changes their trajectory. Can't win on D alone.

Hopefully, they're out of contention by the time the Tigers play them in Norman. They squeaked by Auburn at home with Mateer with a huge lift from the refs.

A fractured bone in throwing hand? That's a long recovery. Didn't Cook have a throwing hand injury that never fully healed till the offseason?

No word on the nature of the hand injury that I've seen. But I gather he'll miss at least 4 weeks from what I've read.

Hate hearing that for the young man. He was having a great year. Also hate the idea of OU having an excuse when we beat them. I was looking forward to playing OU when (in their mind anyway) they’re on top of the world.

He should be back by the time the Tigers play them.

biggest issue is he was doing great at QB but was also their leading rusher as they don't run ball effectively. Now a freshman with a couple of starts last year with no receivers and a pourous Oline. This year both are much better but still don't run ball well.

Crazy thing is I had just spoken to my CFB buddy and predicted he wouldn't make it thru season without being injured with his running style and doing it way too often. 5 minutes later news flashed about surgery.

Sooners fans are desperately hoping he would be back for Red River rivalry but doesn't seem likely or prudent. you don't want to rush an injury like that and need to be fully healed. Better to root for your new QB to proper and we shall see how their OC truly is. Matter made him look good.

also why Beau needs to be coached up when he rolls out to keep looking downfield and find open receivers rather than run. He is a warrior but he took a gruesome shot that was targeting in SC game. Needs to be taught how to slide better and WHEN. do it when you make sure you won't be hit and don't give defenders a thought about helmet to helmet or big hit.

Good. I know him being out increases our odds of winning, but after the excuses OU made last year we don’t want them to have any this year.

You must have very low self esteem and/or a huge inferiority complex You are constantly worried about what other fans are going to say or have said after Mizzou beats them.

Even your bloated resume wouldn't get Drink to agree with you on being concerned about something like that.

Last I heard he had surgery and is expected to miss a month. That gives him plenty of time to be good to go against Mizzou in November. So even if it takes 50% longer to recover (1.5 months) that still indicates a recovery two weeks prior to the Sooners game against the Tigers.

That’s actually something I like about Drink. He’s a bit of a savage. He’s aware when there’s chatter or disrespect by the other side, and sometimes will call out the other side about it. He had words for Josh Huepel after we beat them down which made news. I wouldn’t be surprised if he has words for Elko after we beat them this year.

And knock it off, you had nothing really to say in this post except to badger me. That is all you do on here. Bad faith posts and trolling. It’s why literally NOBODY likes you on here.

Your self esteem is so low that you had to move the goalposts.

The words Drink has had with others are NOT a result of things they said after we beat them.

If he has words with Elko, it will NOT be a result of what was said after we beat them

You’re really bad at this.

Maybe try Pet Talk. They need an obsessive poster like yourself to get that one kickstarted. Of course nobody posts there, but with your charming personality and valuable insights I’m sure you’ll attract a ton of posters.
