If I squint hard enough, there were a few runs he had that reminded of a young Emmitt Smith as a Gator. Nothing too fancy, just hard yds and minimum wasted effort.

You don't even have to squint anymore.

The balance and the ability to run through contact, break tackles and alwasy get extra yardage is Emmitt-esque. Not saying the kid will be the next NFL's all time leading rusher, but look at the vid below (ignore the untouched runs and focus on how he handles contact) of a college Emmitt tell me if you see the similarities in traits.

The combination of Hardy and Roberts reminds me of James Harrison and Joe Moore.

Actually, he reminds me most of a more recent Tigers RB -- Tyler Badie. Not that big, but the heart of a lion. But Badie was used a lot as a receiver, too. I"m wondering why Hardy isn't. Can he catch the ball? It would seem to be nice to get him in space once in a while. But who can argue with success?

I'm big on Roberts as well.......lot's of football left....it's been some time since we've had a duo this good.

Roberts reminds me more of Wilder, he is more of a straight up runner that tries to deliver the blow, Hardy is quicker and more elusive with powerful legs

Don't forget Devin West had 319 rushing yards against Kansas which is still the record for most yards in one game. Put that in your Jayhawk pipe and smoke it.

Nothing beat James Wilder, Earl Gant and Gerry Ellis in the same backfield. All three went on to play in the NFL.

Ahmad Hardy is almost identical to Curtis Brown in height (both listed as 5’10”) and weight (Brown 209, Hardy 204). Both powerful back that were extremely hard to take down.
