aTm is kind of odd. We don’t really have any kind of connection with them. There are a few others that would have been preferable.

Everything about aTm is odd.

Their fans, their traditions, College Station - it's all effing weird.

They didn't do us any favors as far as strength of schedule. I'd rather have Arky, OU, and Vandy for that.

Plus we didn't get any traditional SEC Schools. I was hoping for Vandy or UK.

But having yearly games against A&M should help recruiting in Texas, if it's not all about $ now. :?

Texas got the same opponents as the Tigers.

(The conference must think we're really good.) :? :?:

And Georgia gets 3 current SEC weaklings based on tradition. Four of their other six opponents next year probably will be Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Arkansas and Mississippi State.

Mike Elko gave us some bulletin board material in his presser. Acted thrilled to play Texas and LSU. Then said he didn’t know how Mizzou fits in but whatever - I’m paraphrasing but that’s the just of it.

A&M is a bunch of rich weirdos. We need to curb stomp them and Elko will learn how we fit in.

Obviously we don’t want A&M as a permanent opponent either but you don’t say it in your presser.

You want to do away with Georgia/Auburn and the annual trip to Jax you're in a minority.

Missouri has 90+ games with OU so I'd be fine with that. The Arkansas game is kinda a rivalry of convenience but it's got a trophy and fills the stands. TAMU is rich, good at sports (though not so much at football), and crazy. That describes the perfect SEC fan base but I agree they really push it to the edge and beyond, which is why there are so many Aggie jokes.

Home to fake military dudes, male "yell leaders" and bonfires that kill students. I think I can quickly develop my loathing for aTm more than it is now. Talk about false bravado from that school. They thought they won a title or 2 when they hired Dumbo and got the top-ranked recruiting class. All that got them was their current nickname on SECrant -- Texas 8&4.

I know, I know, SEC tradition and all that. It just grinds my gears a bit that your traditional rivals currently suck and have sucked for years. No OU or even aTm level rival for UGA. And I'm not saying UGA ain't good enough to beat anyone. They clearly are and took it to Texas twice last year.

Looking forward to the Bama-UGA game Saturday, when we find out a lot more about those 2 teams along with UT, MSU, aTm, Auburn, Ole Miss and LSU. Should be a great day for watching CFB. And we also finally get to see Penn State play a non-pushover.

The SEC is kind of like that little town that everyone knows everyone or is related to everyone. Every now and then someone new moves in and the locals never consider them “local”. Even if they’ve been there for decades. So no old time SEC school is ever going to want an outside school as their rival.

A&M and Oklahoma make sense because of the B12 thing, but the ego of those 2 schools, especially A&M, is simply too inflated. They simply will NEVER view Mizzou as a rival because they think it’s beneath them, even if we’re better. Our best rival is honestly SC. There is respect, the cool Columbia thing, and the games are always barn burners.

Our REAL rivals are KU and Illinois. We should play them and then whatever in the SEC. Maybe if we win the conference and a natty a few times 1 of the old time schools will acknowledge we’re actually in the conference. As backward and weird as that is. We’ll just continue winning and collecting checks.

Just like any other group of schools that have played each other for 100 years. You could have stuck in the B12 if you wanted to. It's too late now to complain about feeling like an outsider in the SEC.

Since you brought it up, I think a lot of you Missouri folks worry way too much about what people think of you. "They simply will NEVER view Mizzou as a rival because they think it’s beneath them". I don't understand being concerned about other teams' fans. There are plenty of (bleep) out there, sure, all the more reason to beat them silly. Make them like it.

As I said. We’ll just keep winning and collecting checks. What are we, something like 25-5 in our last 30 games? We don’t care about the inflated egos of others, we see through it. The disrespect just gets annoying. And this is a forum full of Mizzou fans so this is where we vent. We know there are only a small handful of SEC teams in football who clearly are superior. The rest are fooling themselves.

Ah, the Big 8 days! Road trips to Ames, Manhattan, and Stillwater. It doesn't get less exciting than that!

Yup, what the heck was the point of moving to the SEC? I really enjoyed the original SEC East. This suks. Wait til expansion and KU shows up. The SEC should just go to divions- The old sec, and The old Big 8.
