Humming offense
So far, Blues look like Diarrhea avging a whopping 1 Goal per game… what do you think it is? Do you think the boys will start humming or is our pipeline not (donkey) strong as we once thought?

It doesn't look great for the Thunderbirds right now.TampaBlues78 wrote: ↑22 Sep 2025 06:36 am So far, Blues look like Diarrhea avging a whopping 1 Goal per game… what do you think it is? Do you think the boys will start humming or is our pipeline not (donkey) strong as we once thought?
Too early to say on the Blues. Holloway was the only real player we've played so far.

Not to be THAT guy, but it’s preseason. Looking at who we dressed in the first two games, did you expect an offensive outburst?

Re: Humming offense
Most analysts rate our prospect pipeline as average, 15 out of 30, etc. For those facing reality, they have been rated average for quite a while. After this preseason showing, I expect the grade to go even farther south.
On the positive side, Army drafts and evaluates talent well according to BluesTalk.
At some point, there may be a few on BluesTalk that begin to realize that you can't draft low in the draft and expect high-quality prospects--ESPECIALLY NOT WITH ARMY AND HIS SCOUT TEAM.

Re: Humming offense
I could only view the Dallas game but this has been debunked. The NHL players looked like NHL players (except for Walker getting roasted on faceoffs, playing out of position). Binner looked fantastic, Holloway healthy, Broberg playing aggressive and well, Toro buzzing, Walker throwing his weight around. Other than that, Mailloux looked good, Dvorsky was solid on D.TampaBlues78 wrote: ↑22 Sep 2025 06:36 am So far, Blues look like Diarrhea avging a whopping 1 Goal per game… what do you think it is? Re: Humming offense
So I am assuming every NHL team is playing their youth and recent draft picks as well and there’s a lot of goals from other teams so far?!? I am not a doom or gloom guy but so far in the first two games it hasn’t looked greatsdaltons wrote: ↑22 Sep 2025 09:03 amLmao have you seen the lineups we iced for those two games? Re: Humming offense
It was noted in another thread the team the Blues iced against the Stars was much younger and less experienced at the pro level. The Stars checking and puck possession game was much more effective.TampaBlues78 wrote: ↑22 Sep 2025 09:17 amSo I am assuming every NHL team is playing their youth and recent draft picks as well and there’s a lot of goals from other teams so far?!? I do agree with another poster that Springfield may have some issues with the heavy influx of young players, though guys like Stenberg, Dvorsky, and Kaskimaki should be expected to play well.

Re: Humming offense
Losing preseason games where the roster is 70% prospects doesn’t matter one way or the other. I wish dvorsky would’ve stood out more in the first game but it’s nothing to be concerned about.

Re: Humming offense
Isn't hockey preseason one of the most eggregious in terms of non coherant lineups? Each line is playing individually. They aren't playing a specific system for the win. The players are trying to play with their linemates to create single opportunities. Road groups travel different rosters. They literally have the least amount of practice before their first game in any sport. Baseball has a whole spring training regime. Football even has a couple weeks tho their practice isn't so much a practice anymore.
This is a funny post. Winning the preseason is no ones goal I can guarantee you that.

Re: Humming offense
I believe that was the Dallas game lineup. Going in I thought they would generate offense but watching the game I understood why they struggled, the bottom two lines did nothing and the Stars held the top line in check. Toro-Walker did generate some pressure and drew a penalty, but Walker was like 2 for 9 on the faceoff dot (he's a WING, not a center!).BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑22 Sep 2025 09:29 amI thought that this was a solid lineup:Backesdraft wrote: ↑22 Sep 2025 07:05 am Not to be THAT guy, but it’s preseason. Defensively Binnington bailed them out time and again. Broberg and Mailloux looked fine, the kids were shaky.
