Could you believe the end of that Arky-Memphis game? Arky had the ball driving for the winning score trailing 32-31. On 2nd and 2 from the Memphis 9, their RB, Mike Washington Jr., fumbled it away at the 7. This, after being ahead 28-10. Scored 3 points in the 2nd half. And had great difficulty tackling all game long. Wait until they face Hardy and Roberts.

But there was still 1 minute left and Arky had 3 TOs. What happened next was pure Arky. Memphis ran it twice for 2 yards. On 3rd and 8 from their own 9, Memphis put in its backup QB to run the ball up the middle, and he apparently was stopped by a mass of Arky "tacklers" after a yard or 2, but kept churning and eventually gained 11 yards for a 1st down to virtually end the game as Arky had 0 TOs left. Arky fans laughed at us for hiring Drink when they thought they had the next Saban in Sam Pittman.

Then came the Illinois-Indiana game. So much for the No. 9 ranking after a 63-10 spanking. Illini fans were springing out of the woodwork saying how they had arrived. We knew better from Bielema's days at Arky. A whipping like that can't be explained as an outlier or a letdown.

No, I don't think the Tigers should be afraid of playing Illinois.

I look at it this way. The more beaten down Arky is by the last game, on the road, the better. Their crowd would not be a factor. They aren't going to beef up anybody's schedule. They're nonexistent on D.

It will not matter who Mizzou plays in the season finale, if they are position for the playoff berth.

It's not as if Mizzou is Arky's only SEC game.

The committee will see it for what it is. A road win to end a 10-2 or 11-1 season.

Pittman sure can eat some catfish. He and Bielema likely have that in common. Bielema looked like a dead man walking leaving the field after checking on an injured Illini kid.

Totally shocked I am as Illini have been so solid. But that's why you play the games. two ascending programs but IN is the real deal and that coach is better than BB who was exposed as a used to be.

Here's the deal, after this season this guy will be a Hot commodity for the big brand programs.

Best thing about Eli? He isn't anyone's sexy choice as he glorifies in being the nerdy HC. But after the turnaround of the program and rebooting he will get some Yuge offers. So will Kirby.
