Wildcard race down to the wire
This 3rd spot is just one game difference between Mets & Reds .
For the Mets, after tomorrow's final game with Natonals , they finish on the road with 3 @ chicago Cubs and 3 @ Marlins
Cincy after tomorrow's Cub game, plays 3 at home vs Pirates and then 3 @ vs. Brewers .
last year , the Mets knocked out the Brewers in first wildcard series (remember the Alonso HR in top of the 9th in 3rd deciding game) so Brewer fans would rather have the Mets lose the final wildcard spot . Yes if Brewers beat the Reds in those 3 closing games , they just might knock the Reds out from catching the Mets and put the Mets back in.
Going to be an interest last half dozen games for sure.

Wow. Very interesting scenario considering Brewers/Mets last year. I’m betting a lot of Brewers get some “rest” for that last series vs Cincy.
Re: Wildcard race down to the wire
always quite the dilemma .. give Brewers 'rest' and you risk the player not being sharp at the plate for the playoff games.CorneliusWolfe wrote: ↑20 Sep 2025 23:29 pm Wow. this is all you need to know about how bad mlb product is
reds were cooked 2 weeks ago, cooked again, and are still only 1 out
expansion will really make it worse.

All I know is I will celebrate if the Megabucks Mets fail to make the playoffs with a $341 MM payroll!!! It will be a very rare happening when I root for the small bears to beat the snot of the "amazins'" next week. Yes I know the Mets have had many injuries this year - woop te do and la te da! So have the Brewers!AtillaTheBlue1 wrote: ↑21 Sep 2025 07:50 am this is all you need to know about how bad mlb product is

Reds own a 4-2 advantage head to head with NY so if they tie, they are in and Mets are toast. Go Reds vs cubs today, then 3 home games with the lowly Buccos, and then on to Milwaukee.
Re: Wildcard race down to the wire
Cleveland and (I will be kind here) Houston are tied, but Cleveland has the tiebreaker, their season series.

T. Francona has done an excellent job w/the Reds:
2024
75-80
2025
79-76
Eight game swing.
Should've been here since 2012.

More than that, it shows you just how bad the F'n Cardinals are. That last WC spot has been there for the taking for anyone that could just play fundamentally sound baseball, and this team is a joke. Their so-called "Ace" has an ERA worse than most teams #3 or #4 starters.AtillaTheBlue1 wrote: ↑21 Sep 2025 07:50 am this is all you need to know about how bad mlb product is

Just another pathetic season.

How about those Tigers?! What a collapse. They may not even make the playoffs. They have three coming up with the Guardians. Good luck.

Had BDWJr not allowed Mo to pick an idiot like M. Matheny, we may have another WS flag or two flying over Busch w/Tito in the dugout.
