OF Noah Mendlinger has been transferred from Memphis (AAA) to Springfield (AA).

OF Chase Davis (AA) has been placed on the 7-day IL.

for defensive purposes more than anything else...this one stings. Chase Davis is a beast in CF. Best route runner I've seen in a long time. Not the fastest runner, but his quick response and are proper routes get him to balls that others either don't get to, or barely get leather on.

Bernal needs to STEP UP offensively....Davis was having his best 2 1/2 week stretch since the beginning of the season...granted there was no power from Davis the last few weeks, he was getting singles and scoring.

turned his career around after changing his swing really late in last season...he was demoted to Dev. List from Peoria last season to work on the correction....he was swing first, flyball (flyout) hitter that missed a lot. His ground out % rose this year, and his Fly out % went down....his K% is healthier than it was....

basically his bat travels in the zone much more than it did before...or it stays in the zone longer...if you want better baseball speak.

I'll judge him more come AAA when he says MUCH better pitching. But he's extremely patient now, and that's not something he'll lose Memphis....so that's a firm foundation there.
