2LW, 3C, 3LW are the three most likely positions when Stancl develops (remember turned 20 in April and has merely 10 games of pro experience) but my hope is he could be a quality 1LW or 2C one day.

He's responsible enough to be put on the 4th line too and with a squad like the Blues that's probably where he'd start once he breaks in which I do not expect to be this year.

If he ... won a spot in camp ... I mean that says so much right there as to how complete his game is and would be a major sign of skating jump if that were to somehow happen. But I would be shocked.

He is someone to watch on Springfield right out of the gate though.

Tomorrow's roster, per DeFranks
https://x.com/MDeFranks/status/1969180731227492519
Forwards: Justin Carbonneau, Antoine Dorion, Dalibor Dvorsky, Dylan Holloway, Adam Jecho, Aleksanteri Kaskimaki, Matt Luff, Matthew Peca, Simon Robertsson, Nikita Susuev, Alexey Toropchenko, Nathan Walker

Defense: Philip Broberg, Lukas Fischer, Matthew Kessel, Theo Lindstein, Logan Mailloux, William McIsaac

Goalies: Jordan Binnington, Colten Ellis
I like that we're getting an early look at Holloway, Dvorsky, Carbonneau, Mailloux and Lindstein.
I'll let you guys speculate on the lines until the morning skate tomorrow(I really hope we see Holloway, Dvorsky and Carb's as a unit; that could be a really fun line, even if it does top load us more than a little bit).

EDIT- On a related note, given who's not playing tomorrow, Sunday's lineup will probably be loaded.

The team looks really good overall. Monty is in charge and the players are responding with a noticeably higher energy level than I observed last year under Bannister. The players' non verbals are much better. Overall, the vibe is really positive. As far as individuals goes, a bunch to like but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I have only seen the same group both days ... Carbo has great energy but he won't make this team in my opinion. That is not a criticism at all. He looks really good. Holloway is fully recovered and then some. Mailloux is showing potential that reveals why they were willing to give up someone as impressive as Bolduc to acquire him. ONe thing that stood out to me yesterday is that the Blues have a bunch of really good goalies. Hofer, Cranley, and Zherenko are solid.

Some people are just born to coach at a high level. Monty is one of them. Exciting time to be a Blues Fan.

The 30 minute scrimmage this morning was fairly uneventful. Guys playing with guys who they haven't spent much time with and Jr., AHL, and NHL players all mixed makes for not a lot of continuity or flow. However, Bjugstad played center and I think they are looking at him more as a 4th line center than 3rd line winger. He's not offensively gifted but he looks useful. Snuggerud's speed was noticeable a couple times in a good way. I know it was orginally a concern. He's probably above avg at the NHL level as far as burst/speed now. The only concern Is sometimes he looks like he gets a bit gassed about 30 to 40 seconds into his shift. Totally different guy but the same concern with Lucic. He's a better skater than Maroon and actually has a decent burst but he looks to hit a wall pretty quickly and could get caught out there in the defensive zone. Jiricek continues to look pretty promising for the future. Had a good scrimmage defensively. Stancl played well too. I like Stenberg but I will be shocked if he makes this team. Context: Joseph doesn't get much respect here but he is an NHL player and he is faster and better than the competition when he is playing against top prospects. Suter makes good plays with his stick in the neutral zone and defensive end. Hofer looks like a number one NHL goalie. Cranley is a good goalie prospect.

I’m pulling for Alexandrov to make the team this year. No idea how he’s looked in camp though.

He looked OK in the scrimmage yesterday. There isn't any room for him though. Suter and Bjugstad are better at this point. Maybe he gets called up if there is an injury at some point. No Zach Dean currently probably helps his chance to be called up, but probably not that much since Sunny or Walker could slot into center if necessary.

Walker got torched on faceoffs yesterday. Blues need a real C on the 4th line, Walker excels on wing.

I'm betting it's Bjugstad to start the season. He played C in yesterday morning's scrimmage.

Thanks. Guys I will focus on ... Bjugstad, Carbonneau, Stancl, Stenberg, Jiricek, Tucker. I will say I've been really impressed with Hofer in the practices and the scrimmage. He's looked super confident. He had a puck squeak through his body during practice on friday and the players seemed a bit shocked. Let's see if his good play carries over to tonight.

Dylan Peterson should have been mentioned by more people as their dark horse to make the team, I cited Kaskimaki, but Peterson is going to get to the NHL and help some team in a 4th line role and ideally ours. Just don't know exactly when
