Let's Play: I could fix this franchise in _______ days!!
Kind of in the tradition of Name that Tune.
You remember: I could name that tune in???
So, Melville holds the current record for 30 days.
He insists it can be rectified in 30.
Pretty bold for sure.
I say 3 years.
A lot of lousy players to dismiss and a lot of good ones to find.
Can't happen overnight.

3 years is probably a good guess. By 2027, they will have the next waive of pitching prospects and Baez up in the MLs. So, that should give them a decent idea if those guys are good enough or what holes they need to fill for 2028. If none of these guys are good enough, it will take longer...Bully4you wrote: ↑20 Sep 2025 04:35 am Kind of in the tradition of Name that Tune.

Somewhere between Nov 15-20 (specific date not yet announced), teams will be required to make contract offers to players on the 40 man who are not under contract for 2026 - and pending FA's who received a QA will also be required to decide to accept or decline.Bully4you wrote: ↑20 Sep 2025 04:35 am Kind of in the tradition of Name that Tune.

Those 2 circumstances will set the FA field.
The Winter Meetings are scheduled for December 7-10 and time following to complete trades discussed while in Orlando.
That means there will be an approximate 30-day window from roughly Nov. 20 - Dec 23 to easily reshape the roster.
Yes - I could get it done is 30 days or less.
As could any competent leader.
All that is needed is the requisite skill and will.
We shall see if Bloom possesses the former and if Bloom & DeWitt share the latter.
Re: Let's Play: I could fix this franchise in _______ days!!
After 2027 and the new CBA , then Bloom will look at what he has with his younger starters ( JJ, Baez , etc.) and then begin to start trading for higher level guys and also signing free agents probably 2029 for the higher end guys.

I couldn't fix the team. I lack the prerequisite skills and experience.
I could help. So if the team is interested just leave me a note and we can exchange e-mails.
Bloom?
He's already started. Expect visible progress in two years, and a good, young, playoff-caliber team in 3-4 years.

Agree 100% with RBC. None of us are industry experts, with prerequisite skills and experience.Red Bird Classic wrote: ↑20 Sep 2025 12:40 pm I couldn't fix the team. I lack the prerequisite skills and experience.

Re: Let's Play: I could fix this franchise in _______ days!!
Well, I think in numerous ways the fixing has already begun.
I think once the minor league pipeline is moving and the talent eval is on point, coupled with a smart, TLR-like system on the mlb level, then it’s ’fixed.’
To me, that doesn’t mean a WS appearance right away…
Re: Let's Play: I could fix this franchise in _______ days!!
I could have them in the race in 2026. So could many of you. Or Bloom. Or Mo. It would take a 200 million payroll, though.
Without that financial backing it’s going to take someone a lot smarter than me to have them looking like a world series contender within 3 seasons.

Spending my money, or the Cardinals ownership's?
