Once Bettman gets his head out they can make some really basic adjustments to level the playing field.

But that's probably asking too much.

And btw at what point is it NOT the money that drives players to play where they play. I get the younger guys doing what they need to do for security. But c'mon.......Marchand is shocked they could land him and he's shocked to still be there? Boy that's warm and fuzzy for the fans.

Funny how it's always the players who don't chase it and play where they want to play for who they want to play and usually to BUILD SOMETHING that I have the most respect for.

You might quibble on the sequencing but players are generally at the bottom of the economic totem pole:
1. Owners
2. NHL
3. Agents
4. Players Assn.
5. Players (individually)
