State Taxes
Marchand is a tool but at least he’s saying what everyone with a brain already knows. But of course, GB saying it isn’t a problem…

Re: State Taxes
Yep. At this point anyone who denies it is just denying reality.
I mean you still have to actually manage a team and build a team, but it's a built in an advantage that 75% of the teams don't have and 6 teams get punished severely with.

Hope the Canadian who are Blues. That don't want to do their part in america. Let us know so we can move on from them. I like hockey but I'm a proud patriotic American who pays his taxes.
Crazy world when foreigners can brag about not paying taxes. And a certain brand of American, thinks that's what makes us great. What's been proven is those who always cry victim, are the guys who do the perpetration.
From free speech to pizza parlors. They are exactly who they claim they are.
So [fork] every hockey player that wants to take from our communities.

Whoa. Hey man, the tax thing bothers me too, but only because it puts the Blues at a disadvantage. The rest of it doesn’t belong on a hockey forum.Cahokanut wrote: ↑18 Sep 2025 05:46 am Hope the Canadian who are Blues. That don't want to do their part in america. This is exactly the hillbilly rhetoric I've come to know and love from the current regime. DT empowering the American people 1 cousin at a time.Cahokanut wrote: ↑18 Sep 2025 05:46 am Hope the Canadian who are Blues. That don't want to do their part in america. Your right and I apologise to all, this offends. Though better then taco talk.
Cranky I guess.
Re: State Taxes
Honestly all states should get rid of the income tax. We are being overly taxed. They would actually get more money in sales tax cause we would have more money to spend.
This post id dangerously close to political.

Why does everything have to be political...come on, guys, keep it as Hockey Talk instead of insulting each other on political views.

I would love for federal and state income tax to go by the waist sidemoose-and-squirrel wrote: ↑18 Sep 2025 08:48 am what about all the americans that live in those states?
Re: State Taxes
People, don't get us in trouble with the Mods. The State Tax is a competitive factor but if you're going to talk alternatives it needs to be things the LEAGUE could do, otherwise it's inherently political.

Re: State Taxes
It isn't something the NHL can do however as the CBA says this is as much as you can spend.
The Canadian teams like Winnipeg will be in a world of hurt if the cap continues to rise as they'll have to pay out salaries in American dollars and still have to pay Canadian taxes.
It's not going to be easy.
