Tucker will be too expensive
Schwarber will also cost too much

Some guy named Piscotty. They say he’s gonna be a good one.

Re: Outfielder acquisition
The Cardinals were rumored to be interrested in Spencer Jones at the trade deadline. I hope Bloom will reach out to the Yankees this winter and try to get him. He will not come cheap in terms of the talent that we would have to give up but this team needs a power hitter. I feel like he would be a good fit on this team.
Re: Outfielder acquisition
No, they need to acquire two starting pitchers so that will take most of their focus. Also there's the whole fact that they're not actually planning to compete too hard next year.
Their plan is most likely to hope that Joshua Baez pans out, with an outside chance that Walker figures something out at AAA next year. Rainiel Rodriguez could also be ready by 2027.

Spencer Jones makes Tyler O'Neill look like Tony Gwynn. No thanks.KeeptheRamsinSTL wrote: ↑17 Sep 2025 15:27 pmThe Cardinals were rumored to be interrested in Spencer Jones at the trade deadline. I used to be on the bandwagon to acquire Spencer Jones. I've since come around to your way of thinking.Strummer Jones wrote: ↑17 Sep 2025 15:57 pmSpencer Jones makes Tyler O'Neill look like Tony Gwynn. The outfield has to be a priority, period. For years we have been running out some of the least productive outfielders in baseball. To do nothing is criminal. An outfield of Nootbaar, Scott ll and Walker again next year would be a slap in the face of every fan of this team.
Sure there’s lots to do but the outfield has to be front and center.

Re: Outfielder acquisition
In my view it would need to be through trade for a young power hitter. I doubt they use prospects for that when pitching is a far more desperate need. I expect payroll to be cut further so doubt they allow salary to be added.
Re: Outfielder acquisition
If the Cardinals are unable to move Arenado, and/or Contreras, then most likely Donovan will be the LF’er and Burleson will be the RF’er. Scott gets another chance at CF, with Church as the 4th guy.

Re: Outfielder acquisition
If the cardinals acquire any outfielders I think it will be a trade for a guy at AAA who will have a chance to make the team out of spring training or bloom is from the rays so he may go for a fairly inexpensive veteran platoon bat or some non roster invites to spring training
Re: Outfielder acquisition
While our offense is pretty weak as well, our starting pitching era is 25th out of 30 in mlb and sonny gray is only getting older and we do t really ha e prispe ts to step up next year.Whatashame wrote: ↑17 Sep 2025 18:02 pm The outfield has to be a priority, period. Acquiring 2 pitchers to replace mikolas and pallante id say is a much greater need than outfield since putchers can single handedly lose a game.
