Some good stuff in there. Nothing too Earth shattering. What’d you guys take from it?

Did he apologize for winning a Cup without a top 5 pick?STL fan in MN wrote: ↑17 Sep 2025 16:05 pm https://www.nhl.com/blues/video/armstro ... 705110112

Ummm. We had a TOP5 pick on the team. His name was Alex Pietrangelo, and he was selected #4.Lloyd Braun wrote: ↑17 Sep 2025 16:45 pmDid he apologize for winning a Cup without a top 5 pick?STL fan in MN wrote: ↑17 Sep 2025 16:05 pm https://www.nhl.com/blues/video/armstro ... 705110112

What I love most about Army....
When he says "What I tell the team all the time is to not expect last year's success....".
What he really means...
Hey Fans. Forget about last year's late win streak. Since you are on the team, now you know--without me ever having to tell you.

So towards the end of the interview they talked about Susuyev, now that he is signed if he doesn’t make the team he’s going to the A?
What did you all think of him in Minn?? I really thought he stood out and played well both games.. what are everyones thoughts? Os he actually a player?

Either the AHL or ECHL. I guess we’ll see how he does, how he measures up.TampaBlues78 wrote: ↑17 Sep 2025 17:01 pm So towards the end of the interview they talked about Susuyev, now that he is signed if he doesn’t make the team he’s going to the A?

Speaking of measuring up, seeing him up close here, there’s no way he’s 6’0” as listed. Was more like 5’10”. Was probably the smallest guy on the prospect team. Kehrer was also pretty short but much more solidly built.
As for if he’s a player, idk. He bounced around on 5 different teams last season and I didn’t track him at all. His stats would suggest he isn’t anything special but we’ll see. Interested to see how he looks and if he can secure a spot in the AHL.

Is Holloway everything we could have hoped for and more?
Adding Monty, Holloway, Broberg, and the first impression that Snuggerud made have accelerated this team's progression timeline as they move toward contender status. It's a great time to be a Blues fan ... unless you have some other agenda or think you are smarter than most full time hockey people who get paid real money for their hockey expertise.

Our forum member who's a true piece of [shirt] can't even abide by his own fulltard rule in regards to Brayden Schenn, who is still on the team

The 19 team, had two top five picks. One of which is still playing a big role for the team in Brayden Schenn.Lloyd Braun wrote: ↑17 Sep 2025 16:45 pmDid he apologize for winning a Cup without a top 5 pick?STL fan in MN wrote: ↑17 Sep 2025 16:05 pm https://www.nhl.com/blues/video/armstro ... 705110112

We have a member on this board who ignores Schenn was a top five pick as it kills their argument that the Blues don’t currently have a top five pick. That particular person hates my posts as they are scared to answer them as they expose them as an attention seeker not a fan looking for open hockey dialogue.
They said they were crafting an answer to one of my posts that would “educate us all” then hid from actually responding to the post.
Re: Full 30 minute Army Press Conference
Lucic got more than a fair amount of attention from Doug, kind of bugged me. I think he has an inside advantage/chance.
I've been wrong before but I just don't like this idea.

Re: Full 30 minute Army Press Conference
Why? Because of what he did?
I don’t like what he did either but all involved seem pretty clear he’s not the same guy he was then. Assuming that’s true, I’d be willing to give him a chance.
That said, I doubt he’s going to be able to keep up from a hockey perspective. But again, I’d be willing to give him a chance in camp and let the cards fall where they may.
Re: Full 30 minute Army Press Conference
Depends on how he looks.
Depends on who he bumps.
I know it's not something that can be quantifiably proven; but NHL players are constantly saying that there's a comfort factor with an enforcer type around. If there's any truth to that, I can see the appeal of giving Lucic a spot(assuming he has anything left in the tank). He's a monster of a human being(6'4", 230lbs) and has always been the type to throw down at the drop of a hat. I think there's more value in that than there is in a guy like Texier.

Still does not realize we have an almighty top 5er so we should be locks for the Cup!!seattleblue wrote: ↑17 Sep 2025 19:29 pm Our forum member who's a true piece of [shirt] can't even abide by his own fulltard rule in regards to Brayden Schenn, who is still on the team

The re-whatever is OVER, and we have returned to old practices. We are back to plugging the holes with old overpaid dudes.
Now that I have adjusted your helmet on this, will I be seeing you in a Lucic jersey?

Snuggerud, Mailloux and Tucker ... old and overpaid guys filling the holes.
Pius Suter another old and overpaid player filling a hole ... considered one of the best (if not the best) value contracts signed by an unrestricted free agent.
If Lucic makes the team, I can't imagine how huge his contract will be.
