3-0

I didn't get to see the whole game, so others may have more insight.

This slow start habit is a bit concerning. Seems silly to say about a team that's 3-0 and just pitched a shutout and is dominating 2nd halfs so far. I heard the guys on Illini Inquirer podcast say that BB tore into the team at halftime and apparently did the same to Lunney.

The D line is getting better each week.

Despite the slow starts, I feel like this offense can score 30 every week.

I am concerned about the slow starts too. If they get off to a slow start against the Hoosiers it could be a long. This team is talented, maybe BB ought to light a fire and chew some butt before the game~! The so-called experts and the writers are just waiting for the Illini to lose so they can drop them like a rock out of the polls. No respect! Get'em Illini!

I think we've got to start using the pass to set up the run more often. More quick hitters to our receivers on early downs. We're just running right into stacked boxes at the beginning of games and it's not working. I'd also like to see more RPO's. Altmyer can run, use him more as a weapon.

Love the way the defense is playing, but I am concerned at CB for Indiana. Really hope Jahieme Clarke is back, although it's a little worrisome that it'll be his first game. Kaleb Patterson gives me little confidence in his coverage. Gotta keep using Xavier Scott on the outside and maybe Heckel in the slot.

Gonna be a tough one on Saturday night, hopefully we're ready to go. Get this one and USC next week and we can start getting a little excited.

On the recruiting front, local kid Nick Hankins from Belleville West that is committed to Illinois, made a huge jump in recruiting rankings. He's now the #76 player in the country and the #1 player in Illinois. Been awhile since we've gotten the #1 player in the state.

My son was d'd up by Hankins in the operner a few weeks ago. My son could barely get off the ball into a route, and when he did, Hankins had him blanketed consistently.
