Is Jordan Walker the worst player in MLB?

I disagree. A good defender at 1b is valuable. Look at the comparison of Jose Martinez vs Goldschmidt. Im not sure Walker would be any better than Martinez. After 3 seasons, a MLB player should be able to play average defense in the OF. This guy is still bad. I dont get it. Hes not improved any part of his game.

How about Will Benson of the Reds? He's not a whole lot better and with his build he looks like he should be a superstar.

Orioles fans might want a word with you about Coby Mayo. Like Walker he is a big guy (6'4" 230 lb), top 10 MLB prospect supposed to be a slugger. He has hit .193 so far this year with a .622 OPS. Mayo has struck out 75 times in 249 plate appearances so far. Last season in 17 games he hit (if you can call it that) .098 with a .293 OPS. He's giving Walker a run for his money as the worst player in MLB. He is a righty bat and plays 1B/3B. Curiosity question- would you trade Walker for Mayo?

That’s because every thing came so easily to them based on their physical gifts they never had to work hard to succeed early on but to be successful at the ML you have to work hard continually to be good and it’s not something that is ingrained in them. It’s why a lot of 5 tool players wash out whereas guys like Donovan who don’t have much speed or power succeed because they work hard to get the most of

Not only has he not improved, he's getting worse by the day. His last AB looked like a textbook Walker AB, until strike 3. If I'm not mistaken strike 1 was a called strike, 2 was the notorious down and away slider, and 3 he was obviously guessing (something he seems to do ALL THE TIME) and it was a fastball that got away and went up and in, which, naturally, Jordan swung at, but he also had to get out of the way and nearly fell to the ground spinning like a fool.

Man, it was ugly. He was actually pulled for a defensive replacement after that AB. Think that was 2 nights ago and haven't seen him since then.

I guess you just keep trotting him out there the last 11 games, although at this point things could go from lack of confidence to soul-crushing. He wasn't smiling much on the bench last night. In fact, he seemed to be frowning every shot I saw him in.

Some players can’t be improved even with great coaching especially if it’s true what brant brown and oli said and he doesn’t want to put in the work to improve

Yeah he's been terrible as well. At this point I think you just try to trade for equal potential and hope a different system kick starts something in the player. Either way, I wouldn't bet much on either of them becoming above league average players at this point.

I agree. So whether it is a coaching issue or a player issue, I think a change of scenery is for the best. Maybe another organization can unlock his potential. Or maybe he needs the wake up call.

Since Moe has such a wonderful family, they were given the opportunity to rate the MLB prospects and, wouldn’t you know it, they all agreed that Mr. Walker was the #1 rated prospect. If you really think about it, why not?
