I coached HS ball and my wife asked why my coaching buddies and I took it so seriously. I told her (a 4th grade teacher) imagine you have just spent three weeks prepping for the big scientists. The lessons, teaching, the learning checks, the reviews. On test day, the community shows up to watch the kids completely bomb the test. Of course, it’s all on you. That’s coaches/managers on game day.

I would have pinch-hit for Gorman in the 8th last night and made a pitching change far sooner in the 9th last night.
