Re: New York Times 100 Best Restaurants
I saw the story already, so I won't give it away.
But I was at this particular restaurant a couple of weeks ago, and it is absolutely top notch. It's a prifixe menu so the options (and portions) are limited, but the flavors are spectacular. Great craft cocktails.
And the service is beyond perfect, it's almost cult-like. It's pretty clear everybody there has these sorts of lists in mind.
So enjoy it while it lasts, St. Louis. These sorts of places don't last long. In two years, it will either be gone or have a menu centered around a flank steak.

I hope it lasts. My wife and I went there earlier this month to celebrate our anniversary, and it was absolutely great in every way. Every bite we had was outstanding. In addition, they had a rose on the table with anniversary greetings, brought us sparkling wine, and even though the menu included a wonderful dessert, they added a couple of bites of their take on gooey butter cake. It was, without a doubt, one of the best restaurant experiences we have ever had. You won't need a doggy bag, as they put quality over quantity, but you will leave with a sense of contentment.Dicktar2023 wrote: ↑12 Sep 2025 15:39 pm I saw the story already, so I won't give it away.

This is a high honor for a uniquely-talented chef. FWIW, the article was about the 50 Best Restaurants in America, not 100.
