Who is Nado blocking at 3b?
No one
-Norman isn't a 3rd baseman, he'd cost the team multiple games w/his poor defense. He's a DH/1B backup for WillyC/last resort 2nd baseman
-JJW is going to be at 2nd base, if he hits that position is locked down for years
-Donovan, if he's not traded (I think he well could be), is your SUP (LF/RF/3B/2B as needed)
Unless he's dealt, NADO will be stationed at 3rd base on OD 2026.
Yep.
Facepalming on how bad this team could be in 2026.
All the mediocrity in the field. Winn and Wetherholt are the only 2 to build from. Everything else looks replaceable. The tradeable hitters need to go for SP, because ...
The SP is in shambles.
Gray can't pitch in hot sweaty St. Louis weather. He may be traded north or to a team with a done ... if he waves his NTC. Libby is collapsing. Pallante has done nothing but suck in the 2nd half. McGreevy is meh.
They are pushing Doyle now to AA in Hope. Talking about making Leahy a starter for the innings. Nobody at AAA looks ready to step up.

At least they've been able to develop relievers.
Agree RS
2026 could indeed be ugly, especially since all signs point to BDWJr slashing payroll even further and Dewitt bringing back Oli.
I don't see Gray going unless he's changed his stance on wanting to be close to home.
Libby needs a full offseason of training as a starter. He may say different but he's gassed.
Pallante is a piece of c r a p. No way he can be in the 2026 SR, I'd DFA but they may try to revive him in the pen'.
McG is a solid #4/5 but no upside.
Heard the same about Leahy, we'll see how that works.
Doyle is our only hope for a TOTR starter and glad he's at AA, could be a fast mover in 2026 if he harnesses that fastball.

Getting to the OP point,
Trade Burleson. Keep Nootbar who actually gives plus defense.
1 problem solved.
Disagree, unless Nootbaar is a 4th outfielder.
He’s going to be 28 years old. The more he plays the less he hits.
4th full year as the anointed LF starter and he still won’t hit 15 HR or have 50 RBI despite the most PA of his lackluster career.
So who do you think are the legit starting outfielders are on this team in 2026? Seems that they are all 4th OFers.
Burleson is not legit defensively. He's hiding in LF for a bat against RHP.
That said starting pitching is the priority. Otherwise a really really bad team.
"That said starting pitching is the priority. Otherwise a really really bad team". Obviously, there is a serious need of a starting pitching upgrade for 2026. I can't think of a higher priority for Bloom.
When looking at who the Cards would “choose” to move I guess you have to start with?
1) Arenado due to age/productivity/contract. Of course the NTC is a major factor.
2) A LH bat(s). The kicker here is that the guys you prefer to keep probably bring the most in return. Is it enough? Personally I would prefer to deal Noot ahead of Donovan/Burleson/Gorman. I leave out Scott because of the position he plays.
3) Aging higher paid vets. Fortunately after Arenado we only have two(WC & Gray). And Gray only thru 2026.

so ... you don't think High Em is the 'savior' ?
He is and he has pixie dust.
He will sprinkle that pixie dust around and everything will be okay.
But if the pixie dust doesn't take then it will be ownerships fault. At least it will be to the dimwit you're responding to
