Loved the fight. Seemed like all the top Blues prospects played pretty well, DD was solid. Jiricek and Lindstein looked legit, Buchinger made some plays, too.
I've only seen Stenberg play a handful of games but every time he leaves a good impression.
Buium is for real. Hopefully the big boys can find some holes in his game.

Zeev Buium is a stud...dude was like NHL level out there...but a close second was Carbonneau, he has some filth in him that will serve him well in the NHL. Also, Jiricek has a cannon, and Lindstein didn't look NHL ready with his D (maybe an off game)...Fischer with the win in the fight, it ain't the total punches, its the ones that landed and he got a sweet uppercut to bloody the nose. But yeah Carbonneau is gonna be fun to watch

I'm no STL Fan in MN, but I am a STL fan in MN, who would give play by play, such as this game, to my dad, during my niece's volleyball games at Mizzou the past 4 years when they weren't on TV. Jordie graduated last year, so I had tonight's game for the Blues:
These players haven't played together much this year, both teams, so a lot of broken play. A few nice plays by the Blues towards the end of the game with the nice dish by Pekarcik to Kaskimaki and then again with Stenberg finding Carbonneau. So who looked good?
DVO- showed a lot of patience tonight and was dishing and shooting...looked like a man out there tonight. He was physical in this game, moreso, and he absolutely has a shot at RW for the note this year. Excellent puck possession by Dvo.
Carbonneau- tackling that guy after he clipped him in the face was awesome. He could have pounded him too as he had him covered, all on top of the Wild player, almost looked like a wrestling match. You can see his skill with the puck and his ability to keep the defender at bay when he has the puck. I can only imagine with time together, how this top line would/will play when they can keep the puck in the zone and sustain pressure. He looks big on the ice, just solid.
Stenberg- got worked a little early, but he's fiesty and knows how to get to the areas in front of the net. He also has good vision, not the biggest guy, probably a little like Lindstein, a few pounds will only help their games in the future. He's a player.
Susuyev- this guy made himself noticeable more than a few times. Had an assist, made a few plays, had a scoring chance or two and drew a tripping penalty. That might end being a nice little signing this past week.
Jiricek- Looks to have gained weight. Sturdy on his skates, has some pace in his skating too, and was definitely our best defender, but not outstandingly so, more for his O work. He's like CP, can skate, can shoot, but not overly physical. I think he looked solid. Not great, but definitely solid enough to stand out a handful of times tonight.
Fischer- He was also solid, all game, just seems to be in the right position and knows what to do with the puck when the pressure is on, very even keel in his play/thinking. The fight was a bonus, and the big fat head he fought was all over Fischer, but then he starts landing upper cuts, then he landed some more. I'm going to keep an eye on Fish. Nothing amazing, but solid.
Lindstein- Without flow, I can't see his transition game as we propably would if the team had more time together. He also seems to find the right place on the ice and is super crafty with the puck. He didn't do a lot tonight, and he's no big, so he gets lost a little when the opposition crashes the net. I think Theo will be solid someday, and would benefit from a little more weight, and when the team has the transition game going.
Jecho- also seems to be solid around the net, good net presence and he was rewarded for it tonight.
Pekarcik- Fast, good size, but every time he came across the Blue line, the puck was lost or pushed to the corner with poor outcomes a majority of the time.
Robertsson- Big, fast but same as Pekarcik, he'd lose the puck a lot.
That's who stood out on the Blues to me. Buium looks smooth, solid skater, can handle the puck...he's going to be a good one.

My amateur viewing thoughts:
- Dvorsky: He's just solid. Any pass or puck in his area, he has it. I love the way he accepts a pass with ease but also immediately knows what or where he's going with it.
- Stenberg: He has the smartness and can make plays. I think he'll be very good once he has a system he can play to.
- Carbo: Love the energy. The skill is there. He probably needs a year or so, but he's got the fire.
- Jiricek: Skating is impressive. And what a shot. He's a bit loose out there, so it'll take a dman partner to cover for him.
- Lindstein: I thought he did fine. He's playing with Jiricek who is skating everywhere. He seems like a solid dman once he knows the system...or playing with a partner for awhile.

I saw bits and pieces of the game.
I thought sophisticated shoes had a pretty darn good write up of our main players. I did see the fight. Quite a good fight.
Not sure the time of the game tomorrow, but we play the Blackhawk prospects, I guess

Dylan Peterson = MacMac
He's not going to put up any points; but you know what you're getting from him on a nightly basis(honest effort, lots of hits, solid defense). On a shallower team, he could probably carve out a role as a 4th liner for a couple years. I just don't know if that happens here with all the depth we have in our system.

He might be a good plugin during a Cup run. Maybe like Blais...almost. I hope he finds a niche.

Had a fun time at the game tonight. Sat not too far from Army, Steener, Monty, MacInnis, Walt, Mellanby, Feltrin, Ryan Miller, Thorburn….quire a few others in Blues jackets too. They had the whole crew here.
Jiricek looked better than I was expecting. Solid play from him throughout. Very smooth skater. The PP looked better in the 3rd once he replaced Lindstein on PP1.
The PK was garbage. Very slow with reads. 3 of 4 Wild goals came on the PP. we outscored them 4-1 at 5 on 5.
Dvorsky’s shot is similar too Snuggerud’s in terms of velocity and release but not in terms of accuracy. High and wide a lot. Or shot right into an opposing player’s foot. The skill is obvious though.
Stenberg is very smart but is a much better distributor than shooter.
Lindstein looked fine. He’s not a PP guy so not sure why they had him on PP1 to start. Not his strength. Very calm and safe. Sometimes perhaps too much so. There were 2 plays where I felt he pretty easily could’ve gotten to a puck and with his smarts, skills and skating ability, likely would’ve won the battle but both times he backed off and played it safe.
Carbo was solid. The suplex takedown of the Wild goon was awesome. Even had all the Wild fans clapping at that play as he was escorted to the box.
Good on Fischer sticking up for Stenberg at the end with the fight. Nice scrap too. He looked solid overall.

Peterson won’t ever score much but his compete level was sky high and he absolutely smoked a Wild player in the corner. Could be a Toropchenko type in the not too distant future.
Cranley was good too.

I liked seeing this bomb because when he was drafted, a question mark was his shot.
When I watched a scouting report back in his draft year (when I wanted to take him) showing that he struggled a bit with his shot as a 17 year old, it reminded me of how Petro put a lot of shots wide and people complained about it (even though it's a good play just to get the puck through down low and near the net), and then when I watched him on the world stage this past winter I thought he looked like Petro on the ice...as in the way he stood and moved, and somewhat how he was poised and controlled play.
I enjoyed Buchinger's blast (haven't given up on him yet) and the tip by Jecho, who I remembered was as huge as he is. I've always considered him a longshot who might end up like a Poganksi, but I'm really high on all the Euro prospects and just think they're all going to make it in some way. Kaskimaki with a goal as well. Buch also had a nice pull and drag wrister late in the game that turned into a goal and I believe an assist (not sure if it actually made it on goal). He's a savvy player. Not that small. Burns with the feed? He's one of my favorite prospects.
