John Kelly got kicked to the curb and was crushed
The truth comes out. JK got kicked to the curb by the Blues and FanDuel. JK was surprised and crushed.

What else do we know?
The Blues did not tell the truth to the fans about what happened. Why not? Why run from your decision? That shows a very clear lack of integrity. Extremely disappointing.

:I think I will show the same loyalty to the Blues that the Blues showed to fan favorites Dan Kslly and David Perron.

Smelly goo says rooting for a mid market team isn't going to work for IT. Proceeds to post on mid market message board. The Bot is broken.
Re: John Kelly got kicked to the curb and was crushed
Then by all means you and the idiot who vomited this OP should stop following the Blues. Immediately even. Or just keep crying like babies if that soothes your hurt feelings.Plagers4Ever wrote: ↑12 Sep 2025 09:11 am :I think I will show the same loyalty to the Blues that the Blues showed to fan favorites Dan Kslly and David Perron.

Despite what many think of the OP (I'm usually one of them ) , he does make a legitimate point about the Blues handling of this. It clearly was not a mutual decision, and clearly in retrospect it was not a FNDSMW decision. ( He now works for Fan Duel LA . ) It was strictly a cost cutting move in spite of what Zimmerman claims. A big STL loss for what has always been one of the better hockey broadcast productions in the NHL.

Who gives a [shirt]? We’re kicking off training camp next week and we’re sitting here whining about John Kelly now calling games for the Kings. Seriously, the forum has finally jumped the [fork]ing shark. Who gives a good [redacted]?

Sounds like you "jumped the shark" more than anything.Backesdraft wrote: ↑12 Sep 2025 10:16 am Who gives a [shirt]? If you read this board, it has been said ad nauseum how much the board disagreed with the decision. It has probably had 5-10 separate posts about it. But this post is just said to throw dirt on the Blues. There still has been nothing that has come out on why it happened, including in Kelly's own words. Also, FanDuel LA most likely has no bearing on FanDuel Midwest. While there is a connection with the parent company, the individual networks have different budgets and typically operate under their own direction. At least, that's how the Fox Sports Midwest and other entities did.bgwinn01 wrote: ↑12 Sep 2025 10:13 am Despite what many think of the OP (I'm usually one of them ) , he does make a legitimate point about the Blues handling of this. This quote from JK, “The Blues and FanDuel Sports Network certainly had that right to make that decision, and I respect that,” Kelly said. “I wasn’t happy about it, but I respect it. A lot of people have been replaced or fired or contracts not renewed. It’s never happened to me before, but it’s happened to a lot better people than me. They didn’t renew my contract. ‘OK, I’ll move on, that’s the way it is.'”
They clearly explained why they made the change, and it probably has 0 to do with Kelly's work. If they can't afford him, they can't afford him. If they want to go a new direction like I am speculating and get more youth into the broadcast that can connect to a younger audience, then I get that too. Think about this, how many off air segments did John Kelly do with the Blues players, and then compare that to what Vitale does currently. If the face in between the Blues and the audience is going to be Vitale, why would you not use that resource as your TV crew?

^This. Are we going to get another thread when he calls his first game too? Let it go already. It’s over. Re: John Kelly got kicked to the curb and was crushed
John Kelly wasnt drafted Top 5 and he hasnt scored a hattrick like Calum Ritchie so who cares
Re: John Kelly got kicked to the curb and was crushed
I don’t think he was even drafted at all. We signed him as a FA so we were doing it wrong anyway. Good riddanceHarry S Deals wrote: ↑12 Sep 2025 11:48 am John Kelly wasnt drafted Top 5 and he hasnt scored a hattrick like Calum Ritchie so who cares

This also from JK on Dave McCarthy's NHL Network Radio show today talking about his new gig in LA:
"I had a great 21 years in St. Louis, Dave. And um, you know, they made a decision to make a change and obviously I was surprised and disappointed, but you know I've moved on and I'm fortunate enough to land this job..."
Interesting that the guy who it actually happened to can move on, but many others can't.
And as netboy65 said above, this post was made for one reason only, and that's because the pseudo-fan wants to trash the Blues. Again.
I fully expect there to be many more threads like this started all year because that's what the mentally weak do.

So your enjoyment of the blues season, at least in part, hinged on JK’s play-by-play?dhsux wrote: ↑12 Sep 2025 10:36 amSounds like you "jumped the shark" more than anything.Backesdraft wrote: ↑12 Sep 2025 10:16 am Who gives a [shirt]? A Kelly doing PBP for the Blues is woven into the fabric of the franchise itself and this is the first update about it since the fallout. You choose to be a hostile person declaring none of this is relevant to you. Re: John Kelly got kicked to the curb and was crushed
If it isn’t impacting the on ice product it is definitely not all that relevant. People here just like to complain. How many people complained about JK while he was calling games? The answer? Plenty. Now because he’s gone though he’s the next coming of Bob Costas. Give me a break. If you chose to watch the blues or not watch the blues based on JK, or any other announcer for that matter, ya can’t be that much of a fan.seattleblue wrote: ↑12 Sep 2025 13:45 pmA Kelly doing PBP for the Blues is woven into the fabric of the franchise itself and this is the first update about it since the fallout. Personally, I liked JK. That said, I love the Blues so I don’t care all that much who’s calling the game.
Again, people on here just like to be (upset). Kerbs is going to be fine. Everyone put your pitchforks down.
