yeah....he's very tall. Lin and Carpenter are ....I think 6'7" and 6'8"....Carpenter with a little bit more meat on the boneAn Old Friend wrote: ↑10 Sep 2025 21:46 pmBradt is interesting cause he misses bats and he’s been really good at avoiding the long ball. RHP- Chen-Wei Lin
RHP- Tyler Bradt
RHP- Darlin Saladin (Rule-5 eligible)
RHP- Randel Clemente (Rule-5 eligible)
RHP- DJ Carpenter (Rule-5 eligible)
C- Grayson Tarlow
OF- Travis Honeyman
OF- Miguel Ugueto (Rule-5 eligible)

Rainiel is getting work in the Dominican Winter League.
Enjoy.
Bradt, Clemente, Honeyman, and Lin have the most name recognition. Tarlow is a good hitting catcher. I'm not sold on the receiving skills just yet. He was with Campos in Peoria, but in a part time role. I think we got Ugueto in the Rule 5 draft last year...hit's well enough across A+ and AA...defense is good in LF/RF
Clemente better stuff, same HR suppression, but like 20 command? Maybe 25 if you squint?![]()
Saladin is a disappointment this year. No way they need to protect him.
I’d love if they could make Mt. Carpenter a beast out of the bullpen. No one would look forward to seeing that dude on the mound.

Is this Mozeliak's last gasp?
His revenge?
Might catch a day game at Mesa if there is one on the schedule so I can eat some hot dogs and drink a beer, but sheesh . . .

My exact thoughts when seeing that list was underwhelming. In the past there was a bat I would be interested in watching not this year.craviduce wrote: ↑10 Sep 2025 12:58 pmBernal went last year. Campos had a horrible year, but he was the logical/likely choice heading into the year. I'm glad he's not going...imo. Davis or Baez would've been the proper choice, if Honeyman hadn't missed several weeks. He needs the AB's...I guess.ICCFIM2 wrote: ↑10 Sep 2025 12:51 pmIs that list surprising to you since you follow this more closely? Are they trying to determine if they want to protect the 4 rule 5 eligible participants? I would have thought Baez, Bernal and Chase Davis would have been logical choices. With pitchers, I understand wanting to control innings etc. will have a huge impact on the choices.craviduce wrote: ↑10 Sep 2025 12:31 pm I hope this copy/pastes correctly.

Thanks. I knew there was a minor league rule 5 but didn't know exactly how it worked.craviduce wrote: ↑10 Sep 2025 21:24 pmthey can't fall below that level they were drafted....(draft held 1st week of Dec, at GM meeting? Or Winter Meetings....1 of the 2...right before the 1st year Draft Lottery)....if we draft someone like Ryan Fernandez in the Major League portion, he's on our 26 man roster and can't go to AAA...AAA draft can't go to AA....etc, etcScotchMIrish wrote: ↑10 Sep 2025 21:21 pmHow does the minor league rule 5 draft work? there's a pitcher in Memphis we drafted last December from the Yankees in the AAA portion of the draft...Oddanier Mosqueda...he can get promoted to the MLB, but not demoted to Springfield.

Bloom has taken a different approach to Arizona Fall League . In past years, the high prospects were usually sent there. Now Chaim Bloom wants to take a look at some guys further down our prospect list to gage who might be potential roster guys in a year or two .
This article explains Bloom's new approach :

The AFL has long been viewed as MLB's "finishing school".craviduce wrote: ↑10 Sep 2025 12:58 pmBernal went last year. The crop listed is not anywhere near a graduating class.
Underwhelming is a severe understatement.
More like STL summer school for remedial students - played in the fall.
