That was a bummer, indeed. But Pribula regrouped himself and the offense, nicely.

Are we now judging his entire game on one play? I don't think anyone is forgetting. That stuff happens to the very best quarterbacks at every level. How he responded after the fumble is what impressed me.

That's something you and Abner can revel in during the week

Well since we are judging entire careers on one game, why not?

I like Beau’s performance. I think he’ll do fine. I think it’s way too early to start whispering about the best QB in the SEC right now.

That he did. At least no one is calling him Pribulas now.

ESPN analyst ranks all 16 SEC quarterbacks through 2 weeks of the 2025 season
Here’s Connelly’s full ranking of the SEC’s passers after Week 2:

1. Beau Pribula, Missouri Tigers
2. John Mateer, Oklahoma Sooners
3. Taylen Green, Arkansas
4. Diego Pavia, Vanderbilt
5. Joey Aguilar, Tennessee
6. Garrett Nussmeier, LSU
7. Arch Manning, Texas
8. Gunner Stockton, Georgia
9. Ty Simpson, Alabama
10. Marcel Reed, Texas A&M
11. Auston Simmons, Ole Miss
12. LaNorris Sellers, South Carolina

it should be noted that Texas QB Arch Manning, LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier and Oklahoma's John Mateer are early favorites for the 2025 Heisman Trophy. That said, 2025 season is in its infancy.

2025 Heisman Trophy odds per DraftKings Sportsbook (on September 7, 2025)

John Mateer, Oklahoma: +800 (bet $10 to win $90 total)
Garrett Nussmeier, LSU: +850 (bet $10 to win $95 total)
LaNorris Sellers, South Carolina: +1300 (bet $10 to win $140 total)
Arch Manning, Texas: +1300 (bet $10 to win $140 total)

Don't forget "Who is the best?" and "Who has the best statistics right now?" are two totally different questions. Connelly’s list is "best stats" not "best qb".

One thing at a time. I still have Pribula's fumble on my mind, which you told me not to forget about earlier.

Dude, no one is judging a career on one or two games. I get that you don't like it when folks get excited about a player, or acknowledge said player is good. But fans of a team tend to do that.

Just ignore him. I have. He's just a run of the mill contrarian. Boring.

I heard one pundit even saying they were a dark horse playoff team, and one of the three best teams in the Big 12. Their defense was supposed to be pretty good. Yet Mizzou put up well over 500 yards on them, even with the o-line still a work in progress. Pribula was either VERY good in this game, or the kU defense was vastly overrated. Note also in regard to the o-line not contributing as much as they should have to the offense...Hardy got over 100 yards, and NEARLY ALL OF THEM WERE YARDS AFTER CONTACT. So either Mizzou's skill players on offense are stupidly good, or kU really sucks in coverage and tackling.
Not that I'd ever pull for K-Peeeew, but this win could end up as a so-called good win by year's end if the Jayturds end up 8-4 or better.

Far too much stock is put into preseason and early season rankings before you can tell which teams are actually good, which are mediocre and which are bad. Look at Florida. Or maybe South Florida in reverse. Their D may be for real after holding Boise State to 7 and Florida to 16. Too many teams have played nobodies to date to judge them.
Time will tell, but I think KU is a good team who has a shot to win the Big 12. It’s wide open this year. This will wind up being looked at as a very good win by end of the season.
I guess I don’t get it. KU was winning with 4 minutes left in the game, on our home field, and some are questioning how good they are. I think they have a very good team.

Maybe that’s my answer for how in the world, after we dominated them so thoroughly, we were still fighting for the game into the 4th quarter. They are well coached. They have enough talent to compete with us and personally I think we could be a playoff team if all goes well. KU is definitely a good team. We can all look back in early December and see if that’s true or not.
