NHL Network: Top 25 Prospects

Post by SRV1990 »

Can't recall if I saw anything posted on this, so thought I'd put it out there. Snuggerud at #10, Dvorsky at #20:

2 of 25 when there are 32 teams seems pretty good. I blame Army.

Sam Rinzel is a dark horse for the Calder if he stays healthy.

Criteria for the list:

This list was limited to 25 prospects, and their criteria was players who are “younger than 26 years old. Skaters must have played fewer than 25 NHL games and goalies fewer than 15 NHL games.”

Maybe you should.

When you think about where these guys were drafted and those that were picked before them in their draft.

Snuggs was the 16 forward picked in his draft. He is one of the four left still eligible for this list.

Dvoraky was the 8th forward picked in his draft. He is one of the two still eligible for this list.

So I don't know that, that's so great or even average.

It's (bleep) good. But I'm sure a braindead "fan" will see it differently.

Great to see where our prospects land on the NHL list!!

It is interesting to see where one list will show the Blues have multiple top talents on the NHL doorstep and other lists say the pipeline is mid-pack or worse. Too many people here and overall exclusively look at draft ranking for talent judgement. I guess that is good as if they were looking closer at the players the Blues would never be able to lead the league in graduating players to the NHL with where their picks are. :D

I am 100% in agreement there. Though I am afraid we are overplaying just how good Snuggerud is. to me he looks like his game is just perfect for the NHL. Makes me fear I am being too much of a fan. LOL

Snuggles will get invited to Army's BBQ soon. Maybe he'll bring you.

Your argument is that guys picked before them made the show earlier than them? You don't say!

Yep, you’re right. Having 2 of the top 25 prospects in the whole NHL is terrible. I’d trade both of these guys right now for whatever you can get. Clearly they aren’t NHL material because of their draft positions. Wonderful analysis.

Agree. He’s going to be good. And with Chicago throwing the youngsters out there, he’s bound to get a lot of PP opportunities.

I’d consider Snuggerud a dark horse candidate as well but neither as a favorite.

The obvious favorite for the Calder would be Demidov but we’ll see.

Schaefer might stick in the NHL but I doubt he’d win the Calder at 18. A young 18 at that.

The Calder is more wide open this year than most IMO.
