!) will Gorman play some 2nd base , DH as obviously Nado's only position is 3rd base ?
2) WIll Nado , Gorman, Saggesse all be in a rotation ?
Will Cardinals want to play Arenado a lot the final couple weeks to showcase his health in case they get him to waive his NTC ?
How do you see Cardinals using Arenado the final two weeks ?

Not sure what it would hurt.
If NA is hitting, he plays a large majority. If he looks at all like when he left, I'd ease him back into the lineup.

2 weeks will not make it easier, or more difficult, to move him.ramfandan wrote: ↑08 Sep 2025 17:08 pm !) will Gorman play some 2nd base , DH as obviously Nado's only position is 3rd base ?

It will be determined by how many $$ DeWitt is willing to eat.

Why, it's almost like making a big trade!

Melville wrote: ↑08 Sep 2025 17:40 pmI was thinking the other teams that are interested in him will want to see how he makes his throws from 3rd base. Offesnively, whether he has 1 hit or 8 won't make a pinch IMO but an interested team may be more concerned to see how his shoulder is holding up .ramfandan wrote: ↑08 Sep 2025 17:08 pm !) will Gorman play some 2nd base , DH as obviously Nado's only position is 3rd base ?

As you say though, picking up the $$ will be a key in trading him. According to Spotrac, Nado's salary dips to $16M for 2026 and 2027 . Much easier to trade him in that range .

Perhaps but Arenado reportedly turned down a trade to Houston. Perennial playoff team. I think it will be determined by whether Arenado agrees to be traded and by whether another team wants him. It looks like if healthy he can be at least an average MLB 3B but he was playing injured this year. The question then becomes whether he is at the stage of his career when injuries will be common.Melville wrote: ↑08 Sep 2025 17:40 pm2 weeks will not make it easier, or more difficult, to move him.ramfandan wrote: ↑08 Sep 2025 17:08 pm !) will Gorman play some 2nd base , DH as obviously Nado's only position is 3rd base ?

Might need to move him to DH to keep him healthy. I don't think there will be a big market for him and not sure he wants to be traded.

He waived his NTC to go back to the Cards?

When NADO returns he'll likely reclaim 3rd base man w/Gorman moving back to 2nd base.
We've seen enough of Saggese, he's JAG (.242 .284 .314 .598).

that would defeat the purpose of the season, although they have muddled that. Now you have the purpose of season after out of it late. But as you say, who knows what they will do. Nolan should DH with Gorman at 3b the rest of the way. Let Nolan taste what happens if he doesnt take a trade before next year.rockondlouie wrote: ↑09 Sep 2025 08:49 am When NADO returns he'll likely reclaim 3rd base man w/Gorman moving back to 2nd base.

It would indeed and I'd keep Gorman at 3rd.Clubmaker2 wrote: ↑09 Sep 2025 10:58 amthat would defeat the purpose of the season, although they have muddled that. BUT
We both know who the Manager is and he's going to (IMO) hand 3rd base back to NADO and Norman will go back to 2nd base or DH.
Re: Arenado scheduled to return a week from today so ...
Arenado?
Why?
His only attribute anymore is defense.
Re: Arenado scheduled to return a week from today so ...
What is more important, letting Nado show himself capable of playing 3B and hitting, for trade purposes, or seeing three more weeks of what we have already seen from Nolan? Either path can be justified.rockondlouie wrote: ↑09 Sep 2025 11:00 amIt would indeed and I'd keep Gorman at 3rd.Clubmaker2 wrote: ↑09 Sep 2025 10:58 amthat would defeat the purpose of the season, although they have muddled that.
