Assuming this is true, it makes the loss of JK all the more painful. The Kings are going from a simulcast to separate tv and radio calls. The Blues are doing the opposite. LA also goes through FanDual for tv. So it obviously begs the question how LA can get FanDuel to do separate broadcasts and afford Kelly and we cannot.

What I read is they’re doing separate broadcasts. Had been doing a simulcast.

Ok, in what little time I had to look, the Kings have very limited radio broadcasts. The last thing I could find was an announcement in 2024 that you can now catch 25 games this season on ESPN 710. The rest is stream on ESPN LA which is an IHeartRadio steaming channel.

That’s a very obvious answer… population. The Kings TV deal is likely worth significantly more than the Blues. Same reason the Hawks could afford Pang when the Blues couldn’t.

St. Louis sports teams tend to punch above their weight when it comes to the passion of the fans, but at some point the reality of the metro size is what it is.

Lots of us in the STL have also told TV providers to pound sand as well. I haven't had cable since 2015ish and dropped YouTubeTV in 2021 after they dropped FSMW. I rarely caught games live, and it just didn't get watched. I just checked, it's $83 a month, no thanks.

Kerber is fine. I actually might prefer him over Kelly. The issue is that he has to carry that dead weight Vitale along with him.
