The misery continues.

Post by todd-parker »

Man advantage for 74+ minutes and City can only muster 1 goal in a draw versus Dallas, another non-playoff team.

And, as has been the case for a majority of the season, City's defense gives up an equalizer just minutes after.

Refs must have had plans after the match or were afraid of being in St. Louis after dark so only felt like adding 4 minutes of extra time.

Some decent play by the Dallas keeper.

5 games left.

Change needed for 2026.

It is clear from that game that this team is lacking a player with the skill to finish a play. Yes, they had a lot of shots on goal, but it doesn’t appear that the players have the ability to put a ball on goal where the keeper can’t get to it.

They can only score one goal.

Can’t keep a lead.

62% possession
41 shots
14 shots on goal
508 total passes
87% passing accuracy
16 corners

All of that resulted in 1 goal against a 10-man side.

Dallas had a total of 5 shots with 2 on goal and were able to force a draw.

Some pretty wild takes here - they did just about everything under the sun to score when they were a man up. Sometimes it doesn't work out. They had a 4.1 xG - the keeper made a bunch of saves, he gets paid too, after all.

xg does not matter.

Goals matter.

I wouldn't call 2-3 word responses 'takes'.

How about 'comments'? Is that better?

Correct. xG indicates the 'expected goals'. Actual goals are goals. What it does do though is tell a story of the match, in that, City created chances. The result is a meaningless draw at this point.

It is a meaningless stat.

I watched the game.

I know they created chances.

Kind of like another meaningless stat I can’t stand.

Win probability.

It's never better when someone like you is foolish enough to respond to his willful ignorance.

Sounds like a good title for a Rosthol autobiography
