...good managing by Oli... Mikolas was squeezed in the zone by the HP ump, and that started the inning. The Cards may not win this game, but Mikolas won't take the loss. BP gotta step up here and save this for Miles...

They could have pulled within 3 1/2 of the Mets if they won. Using a pitcher who has stunk in that situation was awful, Oli shouldn’t need hindsight in that situation. He made a horrible call.

...OK, you're the manager...WHO should he have brought in..?? Leahy was available, but I believe Oli was saving him for a later inning... They were in the bottom of the 6th, remember... O'Brien had pitched the previous 2 games, and Svenson pitched Sunday also. If ya aren't gonna use a pitcher, then he probably shouldn' be in the bullpen...

Alcala looking good against a team which I assume has seen him many times before in Minnesota.

Not sure many Card fans know Alcala is a veteran reliever of 210 innings.

He had a career 3.64 until this disastrous 2025 season when he lost his control. He could be a decent relieve if he finds his control again.
