Exactly. How many times in the last 2 years do you have your "ace" asks to take himself out with a lead? The guy will give up 6 earned runs in 4 innings in his next outing. The guy is far from an ace. I would rather innings go to a future contributor of the rotation.

If Gray is pitching a no hitter or behind 10-0 he throws 85 to 90 pitches. You are giving Marmol too much credit by saying he thinks about when to pull Gray based upon what's happening on the field.
