Halftime total yards

Post by Armchair QB »

I thought this deserved its own thread. At the half we’re tied 21-21 but we lead total yards 309 to 80!

Completely bizarre we’re not up by a couple TD’s.

Hope that bodes well for the 2nd half.

588 to 226. Wow. Complete and total domination in nearly every aspect except the score.

Still, despite squandering so many opportunities and letting KU capitalize on their few opportunities to make a game of it, we STILL scored 42.

I have a feeling this offense is going to be a real handful for most teams. As hard as it is to admit it, KU is actually a very good team. That was a solid win.

And TOP. 39 minutes to 19 minutes. Pretty amazing statistical game.

truly dominated every stat but score. Key is they still won the weird game. Beau had one heck of a game and is still figuring out how to be SEC QB.

what is strange is how well KU moved the ball against our supposed strong D. still only second game and now they will have opportunity to get better till first SEC game. with all the transfers they are still trying to jell as unit. but holding them to 80 rushing yards? outstanding. now they have to figure out why there were so many wide open receivers.

The D certainly didn't know what to do with that 3-TE offense. Had the fakehawks caught a couple more passes this could have been a VERY different game.

In our 2 “real games” vs KU and SC:

Us:
Vs KU: 595 Total Yards - 42 pts
Vs SC: 458 Total Yards - 29 pts
Total: 1,053 Total Yards - 71 pts

Them:
KU: 254 Total Yards - 31 pts
SC: 293 Total Yards - 20 pts
Total: 547 Total Yards - 51 pts

This shows Drink’s concern. With that kind of domination, the scores should be more lopsided.

Again, we’re winning and that’s good. But hard to be a championship team not maximizing in all aspects.

This year’s team has the talent to be a championship team.

Mizzou is #1 in TOP and top ten in scoring.

But we are only #39 in points per play, which will happen when a team has three different, 99 yard TD drives.

Don’t argue with me. Argue with Drink. He agrees with me.
