Mizzou just not smart on defense. kU is averaging 1yd per run, yet we have both LB and S bite on the play action and leave TE uncovered.

Drink plays not to lose, never seems to open things up.

Can’t blame him for that punt, but that 3rd down call was suspect.

Play call was fine. QB / HB exchange was not.

They have 2-3 wrs open on every pass play and our d-line can't get any penetration. They are still running that soft zone that covers nobody.

On top of that, Drink wants this team to be a run first team behind Hardy and Roberts but we don’t have the blocking for that. He needs to take what they are giving him…the strength of this team seems to be the passing game. If he uses that, the run will open up.

kU coaching staff made adjustments in second half. They gave up on the run, keeping RB in for blocking, and are focusing on the short routes inside the soft zone Batoon doesn’t seem to be able to counter.
