I'm not sure that this is going to work. Have you consulted Putin and Xi?seattleblue wrote: ↑04 Sep 2025 10:26 am We could organize against this. Sorry that you're lonely but it's time to attack your loneliness with some group discipline.
We'd have a Two Tell Off rule.
Two (2) people get to tell you off in each of your daily morning "Find Me A Friend" threads, and ONLY those two posters can engage with you in that thread, and they can quit any time they want.
Once other people have seen there are two insults posted, they back off and wait for the next day if they need to do it. This is the hard part and you're probably right it won't hold. People need to insult you and that's the one advantage you have on everyone, it's a need you're confident will be fulfilled. Your time is cheap and people hating you is still them spending time with you which is all a lonely person like you needs.
If we organized just a little we could make it tough for you. The first two people might insult you once and never again so the thread would die out on page 1 unless you keep ranting at them and filling up the thread with your own posts only.

Individuals making an individual choice. to keep themselves in check voluntarily is like a totalitarian regime. Sure, stupid.

I wouldn't characterize your actions as "individual choice". I'd call it an orchestrated hit on freedom by a mob.seattleblue wrote: ↑04 Sep 2025 10:30 am Individuals making an individual choice. to keep themselves in check voluntarily is like a totalitarian regime. Sure, stupid.
Nevertheless, I wish you all well in your shackles.

+1. If they need to talk about food that badly, this same forum literally has a dedicated food-related message board.
Please stop doing this and just ignore it's daily posts.

I share your intent. But I think the strategy doesn't work because there are too many individuals making individual decisions, they need to vent. If it's all ignoring eventually that doesn't hold and then once it doesn't hold it never holds. A two-poster insult per thread limit would force him to make lots of threads to get the craving met. He has a real craving. That is real. Anything that's real is a weak spot.
You can see that he understands this exact dynamic because he himself is probing for the weak spot in a criticism of Armstrong that will supply the most oxygen for the time he wants to spend doing this.
If he changed authentically (when people are posting grand announcements they want it to be real but they can't live up to it yet, you'll know it's real when the behavior stops for real). I'd be the first to notice and welcome the person making a better set of choices.
But until then it's fair to organize a smart defense (completely voluntarily that's what makes it so difficult) and that IMO includes the reality that people do need to do insult the guy and respond. Like you, I would opt for the silence but it's not realistic so I would rather look for something realistic than spend forever wishing everyone would restrain themselves.
What do we have to lose by trying it? The first two people will be of two sorts (1) the kind that likes to spend their whole day arguing with the Argue Machine and they can do that and then they'll all be happy together in one thread or (2) the one and done types that want to dry out the desert.

Absolutely worth a shot. Anything is better than the status quo. I doubt your plan or my plan actually work, though, as too many people lack the self control.seattleblue wrote: ↑04 Sep 2025 11:28 amI share your intent. I doubt it also. But my thought was, if 70% of the regulars bought into it as an experiment for a time, and 30% were non participants for various reasons, it might have a chance. Within that 30% are people who simply don't like collective action of any sort, don't see the benefit, etc. But not all of those people also want to spend their day engaging. You end up getting a fairly small slice of people who are revealing themselves as eager participants as troll-engagers. Customs have a chance at sticking. For example, once nobody threw tennis balls on the ice toward a goalie when he gave up the first goal in an annual college game, but it became custom, because it was set up thoughtfully. I've seen it happen.sdaltons wrote: ↑04 Sep 2025 11:40 amAbsolutely worth a shot. Anything is better than the status quo. How boring would this forum be without the troll?
Besides, if he stops, another troll will take his place. That is how forums work.

to be fair, I cared enough to stay away during a former era when I would have gotten embroiled, and I cared enough to see what others didn't when it came to how people interacted with you so that it wasn't like that with us. it's part and parcel with me, I think you told me you loved it the other day.theograce wrote: ↑04 Sep 2025 12:03 pmStop caring.seattleblue wrote: ↑04 Sep 2025 11:55 amI doubt it also. Re: TOP5 Picks - Blues, Islanders, Flyers, Nashville, Vancouver
You guys understand we have had trolls in here daily for the last 15 to 20 years. They'll never leave. Nothing works except totally ignoring them and none of us can ignore them forever. They always say something that gets under somebody's skin and elicits a response.
It used to be Bleedr and Verson. Now it's just 2 new ones. Bleedrs still one of them just under a different name but it's the same dude. That guys dedicated to it. If you don't ignore them completely you are just feeding them. In their mind they've never lost an argument. In our eyes they've never won one. They feed off the attention like desparate12 year olds.

there is room for dissenting opinions in all situations. The problem is when posters make it their life's mission to be irritating with it on purpose. He's not actually trying to add anything but chaos to the narrative. He's an attention seeking whore and gets off on any attention he gets, which is why I say no response is the best response. And yes, I get the irony of my response.WeWentBlues0819 wrote: ↑04 Sep 2025 15:16 pmLet's be clear. You are out of your [fork]ing mind.
