he looked good when he came back, but it was a brief glimpse. definitely a dark horse (mine, Kaskimaki)Harry York 37 wrote: ↑02 Sep 2025 13:38 pm The Hockey News on Dean after Game One of last year's Prospect Tournament

That knee injury early in the T Bird's season shut him down... until the last five games they played.

I'm surprised that Snuggarud isn't going to be playing. He hasn't played in a prospect tournament yet and is younger than Dean.

Re: Prospect Showcase
Probably because of the 14 NHL games played (and how we’ll be did in them) they considered him “graduated” from this level but idk.
Not sure if there’s actual “rules” regarding player eligibility for this thing but I’d imagine the Blues, Wild and Blackhawks have at least some sort of agreement on roster structures so one team isn’t showing up with an average age of 23 with most with N.A. pro experience and another showing up with mostly just 18-19 yr olds. That wouldn’t be good for anyone.

I think he would take a 13 year career with over 700GP. I surely don't see him as meek, though. I admit, he is not a heavy hitter, but as a Centerman, should he be? He is not a shrinking violet from what I have seen.Mr.Snuggleupagus wrote: ↑02 Sep 2025 15:50 pmHe's a little on the meek side and will be lucky if he can carve out a Ryan Johnson-type career.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑02 Sep 2025 14:26 pmHey man, never know what happens in camp 4th line jobs can be won perhaps by blowing management awayHarry York 37 wrote: ↑02 Sep 2025 12:51 pm Dean is still my Dark Horse. Yeah if they asked Snuggl to go play in this it would be a weird mixed signal they'd be sending him. They want him to be full of confidence and reward him for repaying their trust when they wanted him to come out after two years but he went back for the third year and truly used it to become a better player

Dean is definitely not meek. He’s not going to be Tony Twist out there but he’s far from meek. Definitely threw his weight around at the end of the season when he returned from injury.Mr.Snuggleupagus wrote: ↑02 Sep 2025 15:50 pmHe's a little on the meek side and will be lucky if he can carve out a Ryan Johnson-type career.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑02 Sep 2025 14:26 pmHey man, never know what happens in camp 4th line jobs can be won perhaps by blowing management awayHarry York 37 wrote: ↑02 Sep 2025 12:51 pm Dean is still my Dark Horse. Also, RJ played over 700 games in the NHL. Most players would kill for that sort of career.

Nice to see a rational, non-trash post about hockey. Thanks Kimzey!

Since this morning, I have been reminded by my wife that we are attending a wedding Saturday night. At first, she said it would be “fine” if I took the kids to the hockey game and she went to the wedding alone but upon clarifying it she meant it was “actual fine” or “woman fine”, she clarified it was “woman fine”, ie. definitely not fine.seattleblue wrote: ↑ Dam but yay? So…long story short, I’ll be attending Friday but not Saturday now.

lol oh boy ... yeah I would not try to ditch a wedding for this, would not even try. we lived in a far more rural county for most of a decade so when we moved back to population we have way more restaurants all of a sudden so we pick out of a tin on wednesdays where we are going friday night. that is usually 7pm here. I immediately prepped her with the "we usually go at 7, we are going at 8 on Sept 12." (thank you pacific time, you handsome devil.) good news is that's my week to pay. bad news is this is about all the buffer I have. puck drop half an hour later and it would be "fine" when we ended up going out saturday. probably a hybrid between actual fine (I mean, stancl's playing) and woman fine (it's an end of the workweek treat we both enjoy, that's Friday)STL fan in MN wrote: ↑02 Sep 2025 17:11 pmSince this morning, I have been reminded by my wife that we are attending a wedding Saturday night. Danged if we didn’t trade the Knights a ripe one for a seedling.

Idk about meek ive seen Zach Dean play for Springfield and briefly w the Blues, Dean is fast and a tenacious forechecker he also has a little skill to combine. Hes another younger guy that hasnt planted his feet yet mainly due to injury. The books is far from written on Dean, he and Robertsson are my dark horse surprise prospects on the upswingHarry York 37 wrote: ↑02 Sep 2025 16:15 pmI think he would take a 13 year career with over 700GP. We culdn;t pay em what other teams would pay, so we got some Firsties and a first round seedling
