Hopefully Bloom knows how to handle his up and comers, Moe would leave him in AAA/AA till he was 27

Hopefully they move him to first.

ok...he's doing pretty good as a C...let him cook there for the time being...move to 3B or 2B if you must in a few years.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑02 Sep 2025 18:36 pmCT wants everyone moved to OF. JJ, Herrera, Bumbles...

18 yo??…that dude is 25. Nice numbers though. With a speed/run tool rating of 40, probably not moving to OF.

What about it, though? I get it that he can stick at catcher and that he would provide crazy offensive production at that position, but would it make more sense to put him at a less demanding position, wherever that may be?
I say that because catchers aren't out there playing 162 games. I get that he can DH on his off days to keep his bat in the lineup, but catching takes a physical toll on players. Starting him at that less demanding position would keep him fresh and possibly at least risk for injury.
What do you think?

If his bat is as good as advertised I hope they move him from catcher that wears on a player and those St. Louis summers will wear on a big boy like him especially as he gets bigger as he ages. I haven't heard much good about Rodriguez's defense at catcher. It's fine. For A-ball. Unless he looks like a Molina behind the plate, find somewhere else where his bat can shine.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑02 Sep 2025 18:36 pmCT wants everyone moved to OF. JJ, Herrera, Bumbles...

I'd take that bet. His swing looks like the real deal.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑02 Sep 2025 19:44 pm He's 18...long way before he sniffs MLB.

Re: Prospect Rainiel Rodriguez getting attention
Why? Is he not a good C?
Re: Prospect Rainiel Rodriguez getting attention
Bernal and Crooks appear to have a lot more promise behind the plate than Rodriguez(at least from what I have read). And could lock up the Catcher spot for the foreseeable future. With Rodriguez bat really starting to establish itself I don’t think it would be a bad idea to find him a new spot in the field to develop in the minors for the next 2-3 years so he isn’t learning in the fly(as much) by the time he gets to the MLB. Third base might be his best bet.
