Bama HC is already Toast
after disappointing first season they start this one by clunking way to loss to a 2 win Seminole team? Looked ordinary in all aspects of game despite having superior talent at all positions except QB. MU bottled up FSU's QB last year when he was with BC but he ripped thru Bama's vaunted d.
SEC show already calling for either offering $20MM to Saban or going and hiring Lane Kiffin. Going to be lonnnnnggg season for deboer and the bama faithful. can't wait to hear what Pawwwlllll has to say about this as he was touting Bama to win SEC and be in NC game. betting odds already calling for him NOT to finish season without being fired. Which of course will trigger YUGE buyout.
Good news for MU is that they had trouble last year with mobile QB's plus power running attack and guess what we have this year and a plethora of skill players. Will have plenty of tape to game plan for them when they come to como. BTW they had a lot of trouble with road games last year as well.
Ironically was with two good folks we have been going for years on our music cruise thru NE and Nova Scotia who are from Tuscaloosa and he was telling me how great Deboer and bama were going to do this year. we even have a wager on game this season. Hope this shocker doesn't affect him as he just turned 81.

I know everyone is pencilling in Kiffin as the next HC, but my bet is on Jim Harbaugh. He would have been the coach now, except he had the video taping black cloud hanging over him. Remember Harbaugh and DeBoers were both being discussed and when Alabama curators made the decision on DeBoers, he immediately jumped to NFL.
Re: Bama HC is already Toast
I thought they made a big mistake by not hiring Kiffin. I mean Deboer could work out but it might take a few years of him getting the program reshaped to his style. I don't know if the 'Bama faithful have that kind of patience.
Re: Bama HC is already Toast
Zero chance Harbaugh comes back to college ball and no way would the 'Bama culture would want to have anything to do with him. Leave should have been the choice to begin with and if the decide to dump Deboer Lane will be the call, as it should have been.rezero wrote: ↑31 Aug 2025 09:18 am I know everyone is pencilling in Kiffin as the next HC, but my bet is on Jim Harbaugh. Even without his latest show-cause order I don't see Harbaugh coming back.Zero chance Harbaugh comes back to college ball
As for FSU, I guess they're pretty happy with Gus Malzahn as OC. Give the man a mobile QB and he's shown he can gin up an offense. Someone should ask Drinkwitz if he called Gus after the game (I bet he did) and what he had to say.

All Alabama would have to do is wait until 2038, shouldn’t be a problem for their notoriously patient fan base.rezero wrote: ↑31 Aug 2025 09:18 am I know everyone is pencilling in Kiffin as the next HC, but my bet is on Jim Harbaugh. Harbaugh is done in college for good. Though I would’ve loved to have seen the culture clash of Harbaugh and a fan base like Alabama.
Alabama is probably the biggest week one loser. At least Texas’ defense looked good.
Re: Bama HC is already Toast
It would be coaching malpractice if he doesn't reach out to Malzahn but every SEC coach that plays 'Bama this year is calling too.jcgmoi wrote: ↑31 Aug 2025 11:15 amEven without his latest show-cause order I don't see Harbaugh coming back.Zero chance Harbaugh comes back to college ball

I was thinking more about their long association together than a job offer.
Meanwhile, roll on Gus!

He was finished day 1 when he decided to turn Saban’s Victorian library office into a T-Mobile storefront.
Re: Bama HC is already Toast
came out on Pawwlll's show that latest affront is he totally redid Saban's office and now looks like a sterile Cracker barrel type place. BLASPHEMY! One more reason to Fire him Immediately! LOL love love love the chaos in the mighty Bama program! Even Legend and other diehards who were spewing their superiority as a FB program are done with Deboer and the AD who hired him.TheSolution wrote: ↑31 Aug 2025 16:24 pm He was finished day 1 when he decided to turn Saban’s Victorian library office into a T-Mobile storefront.
words that kept coming up in every reporter and I heard quite a few is NO effort, being pushed around on both lines despite 5 star talent everywhere and no longer tough. Program is finally being acknowledged as dead.
Deboer might need a bodyguard simply to go out anywhere in Tuscaloosa.
did have the number one recruiting class up to now. wonder how many will decommitt now?
Re: Bama HC is already Toast
If Deboer ends up getting whacked, I wouldn't be surprised if Drink got a look/interview for that gig.
