MO is the cause of this.
He just sucks so bad and has for years.
How many games this year have the Cardinals played short handed? Arenado, Donovan, Herrera, Contreras, etc….
Now it’s O’Brien, and the bullpen is already worn out! Penny pinching at its best!

Saggese is proving he is a utility player - good player for a couple of starts and a pinch hit here and there but he is not an everyday player.
Agree on the utility role.
He reminds me of a hockey goalie playing the infield!
Utility players should at least having above average glove.

Don’t know how he fared defensively in the Minors?
Shaky so far to say the least.

That’s a nice play Church. I like him better than Scott II.
Why? Church does not appear as if he can hit.
IMO Church takes better ABs and even though his average is low he has had some hard contact and has hit into some tough luck. He covers just as much ground and has a stronger throwing arm.
All that being said, our outfield production has been poor for years. If there is a priority need, more production from our outfield is a necessity.
