Blake to the mound

Post by OldRed »

I have never seen a pitching coach go to the mound and the pitcher does all the talking and the coach shakes his head yes to what the pitcher is saying. I hope other say the same as I did.

I guess it could be the ol' "Don't walk them but don't give them anything good to hit!" LOL He seems awful calm for a person that's about to get fired. I'm assuming that's what happens to a pitching coach when all the pitchers suck terribly under his watch.

Have not watched last couple of games but through out
year I have noticed how many times he has not gone to the mound when he should. He seems very hands off during the game.

He looks more concerned about covering his mouth than imparting wisdom. Of course I’m biased. He’s useless.

Miss the laying of the hands by a prior pitching coach?

Has overseen one of the four worst starting Cardinals staffs since expansion era began.

Like Oli, he needs to be fired at seasons end.

I keep hearing some in the media praising this guy, for what?

Pallante/5.38 ERA
Fedde/5.22 ERA
Mikolas/5.04 ERA

Roycroft, Fernandez, Munoz....etal

Dusty needs to hit the dusty trail w/ Oli at seasons end.

Oli and Dusty have had their 15 minutes of fame, courtesy of Moe and his hatred of his own inability to do his job. Time for all 3 to go.

Will he be fired? Winning doesn't seem to be a priority anymore.

I would be really surprised if he wasn't. Seems to me that Bloom brought in a lot of guys to start looking at pitching. Surely once he has full control he has an idea of who he wants to be the pitching coach.

Hate to talk bad about him but he is the most un-athletic looking professional pitching coach I have seen. Reminds me of a weekend softball guy who got too old to play so now he is the coach. Surely he is in the last few days of his MLB career. I wish him well he probably did the best he could, just had very limited knowledge of the game.

Hopefully he has a new manager in mind as well.
