How Concerned Are You About LT?
It’s a spot that requires a high IQ/acumen for the position and a fast processing brain in general.
Cayden Green is a physically gifted athlete for sure but so much about his body and processing abilities are built for guard. His misses were not just misses, they were indications of how limited he is as a LT. Word on the first outer-ring of the program is he won’t be able to process from that spot regardless of his physical abilities.
This team is heading into a season with no proper LT on the roster and a QB that will run a lot.

I'd venture to say the staff will force him to watch film of that game ad nauseum, and that he will get plenty of instruction. Let's give it a chance

I think everyone is hopeful but it’s just not a position that is learned from film, let alone a week of it, and I don’t think it’s a position just anybody can play even with a ton of experience and film and the proper body. It’s a mental position, I’m going to say this kid doesn’t have it. The deer in the headlights looks as he froze multiple times doesn’t allow me optimism at this time.MizTruBlueLuvzU wrote: ↑31 Aug 2025 19:17 pm I'd venture to say the staff will force him to watch film of that game ad nauseum, and that he will get plenty of instruction. We shall see, I guess.
My feeling is Drink has focused too much on the skill positions and this is an oversight or way-downstream result of years of putting emphasis in other areas and it’s going to cost him this year.

You could have saved yourself a lot of typing. We know what you are saying: You love Odom and hate Drink. And this is your latest fabricated reason.TheSolution wrote: ↑31 Aug 2025 19:45 pmI think everyone is hopeful but it’s just not a position that is learned from film, let alone a week of it, and I don’t think it’s a position just anybody can play even with a ton of experience and film and the proper body. Oh, was there not a LG who was moved to LT who got walked in a state of frozen-confusion we rarely see at this level? I’m not sure where you’re coming up with the word fabrication.icon wrote: ↑31 Aug 2025 20:28 pmYou could have saved yourself a lot of typing. Anyway, you seem like a treat. Have a great weekend.

Guards normally move straight ahead or straight back. Even when they are pulling they pivot the hips and then run straight ahead. Tackles have to be able to slide left and right since they have to protect against the outside speed rush and the inside move. Green just looked too slow trying to shuffle side to side. They will give him a few more games, but worse case we have an all american back at guard.

There's been vert little explained on this whole deal.
Is Richardson hurt or were they just that disappointed in his play at camp?

Re: How Concerned Are You About LT?
This move was disappointing on so many levels. Taking a AA guard and moving him to a position where he is JAG is the height of stupidity. He had two viable options who are OT's and BAA's in camp they both performed well. This is a classic case of Overthinking something and we thought Eli had moved on from it when he fired himself as the incompetent too cautious OC he was. Skillset at guard is entirely different than at OT where green wasn't very good at all.
lets see if Eli gets his head out of his (bleep) and lets his OL coach do the right thing or he will stay as the HC who doesn't step up to the next level or ever being recognized as a top SEC HC.

148 has been desperately trying, but getting through his poor grammar and run on sentences in an attempt to call others stupid is just too taxing

Frankly, quite surprised that Johnny Williams isn't playing lt. He played there all last year at W. Va. and performed well. IDK something weird about all this.
