I think he stays. I’ve heard some reporters and radio guys say Bloom has seemed pretty invested in him this season.

Mozeliak is on his farewell tour. Rather than fire him Dewitt and co. wanted him to ride off in the sunset. Bloom is not going to rattle that cage in any way until he has the reigns. What he says now could be completely different in 2 months. He will always thank Moz for the training and time spent but if he is going to be judged by results he is going to have his own people in place. You can bet on that.

He will stay. HIs job is to help the youngsters develop. Gorman is looking better. Saggase looks good, several of the relief pitchers are working out fine. You can't judge by wins and loses.

I read Yadi gave his endorsement to Marmol, which has to be huge with Dewitt. Next year, the Cards are going to be very young. I suspect it would be difficult to bring in a high profile coach until the Cards are ready to compete. I'm not a Marmol fan, but I think he stays next year.

You guys are expecting major changes in the way the Cardinals operate when Bloom takes over? Bloom will operate much in the same fashion as Mo. The only hope is that he does it better. The industry standard for a manager is to implement the decisions made by a collaborative group headed by the geeks. Bloom wants a manager who will do that AND get along (in other words, acquiese) with the geeks and stand in front of the media and take the hits. That fits Oli to a T. I think it’s 50/50 and I’m leaning towards Bloom will find no reason to make a change.

Don’t forget that IF Bloom cans Marmol, the new manager will be a clone of Marmol.
