Mozeliak is on his farewell tour. Rather than fire him Dewitt and co. wanted him to ride off in the sunset. Bloom is not going to rattle that cage in any way until he has the reigns. What he says now could be completely different in 2 months. He will always thank Moz for the training and time spent but if he is going to be judged by results he is going to have his own people in place. You can bet on that.

SSSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Never played, nor had the skills to play MLB. Obvious horrid MLB manager. NOT nor ever will be a leader of a team.
Exactly how does an incompetent pretend MLB manager "teach" younger players the nuances OF MLB?? WHY would you want your product "taught" by an incompetent individual?

If you want to bet Marmol won’t be the manager in 2026 I’ll take that action. He will be back.StlMike1969 wrote: ↑30 Aug 2025 09:17 amMozeliak is on his farewell tour. Re: Marmol
I read Yadi gave his endorsement to Marmol, which has to be huge with Dewitt. Next year, the Cards are going to be very young. I suspect it would be difficult to bring in a high profile coach until the Cards are ready to compete. I'm not a Marmol fan, but I think he stays next year.

The board will be more entertaining if he is back…

They're rebuilding so the pud will be back. Maybe after next year there will be hope.

Don’t forget that IF Bloom cans Marmol, the new manager will be a clone of Marmol.Red7 wrote: ↑29 Aug 2025 22:53 pm You guys are expecting major changes in the way the Cardinals operate when Bloom takes over? Bloom will operate much in the same fashion as Mo. The only hope is that he does it better. The industry standard for a manager is to implement the decisions made by a collaborative group headed by the geeks. Bloom wants a manager who will do that AND get along (in other words, acquiese) with the geeks and stand in front of the media and take the hits. That fits Oli to a T. I think it’s 50/50 and I’m leaning towards Bloom will find no reason to make a change.
According to you.

I would hope Bloom would hire a more competent manager than Oliver Marmol. Sometimes I look at that pud and wonder how he was able to find the field.

One of the biggest things a manger does - some say the biggest - is handling the pitching staff.
Marmol's inability to recognize tired arms and insist on leaving them in games to throw 90 pitches when the team is losing badly should get him fired.

He follows a predetermined plan. Isn't smart enough to alter it on the fly.ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑30 Aug 2025 20:05 pm One of the biggest things a manger does - some say the biggest - is handling the pitching staff.

Re: Marmol
IF we had Francona, we'd be sitting 0.5 games ahead of Oli and his 2025 Cards. #FranconaLegend
Re: Marmol
That is correct. I thought I also said that in this post.Bomber1 wrote: ↑30 Aug 2025 16:40 pmDon’t forget that IF Bloom cans Marmol, the new manager will be a clone of Marmol.Red7 wrote: ↑29 Aug 2025 22:53 pm You guys are expecting major changes in the way the Cardinals operate when Bloom takes over?
