Pedro Pages.........seems like a good guy. Good story, hard worker, etc. I like Pedro Pages.
But come on. It's not like his amazing catching abilities have transformed a bunch of scrubs into serviceable pitchers. They suck no matter who catches them. Would it kill them to start Crooks? He's caught McGreevy all year. So they're facing a lefty? Who cares? Give fans some kind of story to follow.
What, is he going to catch like one game and get sent back down?
Since bottoming out at the end of July, in his 16 games in August he carried 1.055, over 59 PA.
I'm not suggesting he turned a corner, or that Crooks shouldn't play. However, I can see the reasoning in him starting tonight.

They'd be foolish not to play Pages right now. I admit to him being the most depressing guy in the lineup in July but might as well ride the hot hand, something Oli seems incapable of understanding until now. Oh wait, he just loves Pages regardless. Oh well...

My guess is Crooks starts tomorrow.
Noot and his LHH in the 3-spot. Genius!
Oli has already stated the both Crooks and Prieto will start tomorrow.
