Did he have an MRI? Any updates about the injury? I haven’t seen anything to date.

Just released: Mizzou QB Sam Horn Out 'Indefinitely' with Injury Per a report from Pete Thamel, the Missouri quarterback will be out for a significant amount of time.

Not the information I wanted to hear but about what I expected.

What's the injury? Hope no surgery is required and he's back by the SEC season.

Man do I feel for him.

And not just his football aspiration/opportunity but MLB as well.

What a tough deal.

1. Why risk the baseball check?
2. Players generally improve on the field, not the bench.
3. Drink does not play other QBs much.

What makes you confident he’ll be back?

He probably tore an ACL or some such thing.

I had high hopes for Horn when we signed him. Now it looks like his career at MU is probably over. :? Reminds me a bit of that basketball phenom we signed several seasons ago. Played one game(?) and that was it.

Next year I expect Zoller to be the QB.

Really sucks for Horn. But maybe he can still make it with the Dodgers.

Well an ACL is better than a torn cuff for a pitcher....but it still ain't good.

Just a bad story for the guy.

Sounds like the MRI was completed today around 1pm. Surprised no word has emerged to the findings.

Drink said today that Horn will miss "an extended period of time."

A strained knee or a deep bruise could be an extended period of time if it is 3-4 weeks. A torn ACL or MCL means his next game will in the minors for the Dodgers. My guess is it is not a tear of he would have just come out and say that he is done for the year, so "an extended period of time" is probably a positive comment at this stage.

As bad a luck as Sam has had, you have to feel for the kid. But in all honesty, regardless of the extent of injury or recovery time, Sam’s college football days are done. Pribula won’t be unseated and Zollers is the next man up. There is no way the Dodgers will let Sam play football again, period. Time to put the Sam Horn era to rest. He got paid very well, btw, by Mizzou for ending up being very injury prone. Good luck to him. Move on.

if it's an MCL, it might depend on how severe the injury. some MCL injuries can be back in 6 weeks without surgery, if it's not the most serious kind. still, not something Horn might want to risk since it could impact his baseball future.

Read between the lines you goofball.
He’ll be out an extended period, college season isn’t that long to begin with, Dodgers I’m sure will say “enough is enough”
