Pribula has a quick release, makes good decisions and
has a pretty strong arm for the deep ball. This with his uncanny rushing ability, what's not to like? I realize he's getting paid handsomely. But, right now, he looks to be worth every penny.
Re: Pribula has a quick release, makes good decisons and
I agree but the one concern I seen last night was twice he made the decision to run while the pocket was still intact and had WRs open. The first was the 3rd and 10 where they showed the replay and Coleman was open 15yds downfield. The other when he rolled right and could have thrown to Manning and elected to run into two defenders. Nothing against running, but that should be a second resort, plus in a meaningless game he needs to be smarter with his body. Happy with game 1, but there is still work needed.

Good points. Pribula does seem to like to take off with the ball. He's going to put a lot of pressure on LBs and DBs.rezero wrote: ↑29 Aug 2025 15:55 pm I agree but the one concern I seen last night was twice he made the decision to run while the pocket was still intact and had WRs open. I get you concern, but a few of things to consider...rezero wrote: ↑29 Aug 2025 15:55 pm I agree but the one concern I seen last night was twice he made the decision to run while the pocket was still intact and had WRs open. first, the o-line was well on the way to getting him killed early, so he might have been a little, shall we say, untrusting of having to stay in the pocket for very long. That should improve as he jells with the o-line.
second, I'd rather he decide to take off a beat or two too early than a beat or two too late.
finally, with Horn out, the instruction from the coaching staff will likely be for him to be a little more careful\judicious about when and how he runs.

Stetson Bennett 19th ran like a wild man and somehow never got hurt. He knew how to avoid the big hits.imyourhuckleberry wrote: ↑29 Aug 2025 16:03 pmI get you concern, but a few of things to consider...rezero wrote: ↑29 Aug 2025 15:55 pm I agree but the one concern I seen last night was twice he made the decision to run while the pocket was still intact and had WRs open. That's what was so dumb about having Horn run up the gut. I don't think his stock in trade is elusive running. Pribula probably avoids a hit like that.

Pribula is a gifted runner, everyone knew that. His deep ball looked pretty darn good. That’s the surprise. With a burner like Johnson, that’s going to now be in every OC’s mind. It’ll be huge if we can continue to hit deep balls, it’ll just open up what is really our strength: running the football.

Maybe so, but the Horn injury was a freak accident. No one is to blame. 99.9% of the time it's a normal hit\tackle and he pops back up and continues.icon wrote: ↑29 Aug 2025 17:36 pmStetson Bennett 19th ran like a wild man and somehow never got hurt.
