Lost out to Votto in 2010.
I think he should be retroactively given the three MVP's lost to Bonds.
The Votto loss is ridiculous too.
Votto playing in Cincinnati too easy to hit there.
Just a complete scam.
Pujols always had excellent seasons with Cardinals.
Tough ballpark to hit in.
Just a shame.
Pujols is on the fast track to the HOF, Bonds may never get there. Don't know how Albert feels about it, but I'd rather have that.
Would you rather be, statistically, one of the very best players of all time, have the two most famous records in the sport, and be a 7x MVP, but not be in the HOF because of a very well known scandal (for lack of a better phrase) OR; be a 3x MVP (who should have at least one if not two or three more, but oh well) who has 3,000 hits (top 10 in hits), passed every major HR milestone up to 700 (4th all time, including behind a known PED user), 5th in doubles, 2nd in total bases, 2nd in RBIs, 12th in runs scored, be a slam dunk 1st ballot HOF (maybe even a 100% vote getter) but maybe not in that many top 10 lists of all time?
A reputation is a fragile thing. Once you've lost people's respect, it's extremely hard to get it back.

When i watch baseball I want to see the best players in the game. Bonds was by far the best I've ever seen live and in their prime. Steroids are not a magic pill for success. Bonds put the work in. All done to make himself go from a great player to one of greatest players of all time.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑28 Aug 2025 17:27 pmAn amazing cheateralw80 wrote: ↑28 Aug 2025 15:22 pmBonds was amazing, cant really gripe about those.Bully4you wrote: ↑28 Aug 2025 11:44 am Lost out to Barry Bonds 3 times.

Said all along when Albert was here Bonds cheating screwed him out of least two MVP awards.
You either condone cheating or you don't.
It shouldn't be at the game or another players expense.

What difference does that make? He’s the best cheater so what that doesn’t mean anything it just means he was the best of the cheaters his accomplishments mean nothingalw80 wrote: ↑28 Aug 2025 18:23 pmIn a league of cheaters.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑28 Aug 2025 17:27 pmAn amazing cheateralw80 wrote: ↑28 Aug 2025 15:22 pmBonds was amazing, cant really gripe about those.Bully4you wrote: ↑28 Aug 2025 11:44 am Lost out to Barry Bonds 3 times.

Jack Clark is an attention seeking idiot if Pujols was on steroids he would have been hitting 40+ home runs at 38 like bonds instead of just 19

Everyone is stained equally therefore it doesn't matter. Do APs accomplishments mean more? You know for a fact he never cheated? We have to assume they were all cheaters.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑29 Aug 2025 10:12 amWhat difference does that make? Steroids obviously unlocked something in Barry that it didn’t unlock in others. But still, I can’t look at a 39 year old w a 1.400 ops at face value.

No because some like to pick and choose. Many think Edmonds got ripped off and Molina is first ballot. They are no doubters. So it's ok for some to to use just not the really good ones. And yes Pujols used but i'm ok with it.alw80 wrote: ↑29 Aug 2025 16:03 pmSure not all just the ones who put up the crazy numbers.ecleme22 wrote: ↑29 Aug 2025 15:45 pmWe don’t have to assume they all cheated.alw80 wrote: ↑29 Aug 2025 12:06 pmEveryone is stained equally therefore it doesn't matter. Re: Albert Pujols got gypped--Should have 7 MVP's
Edmonds did get ripped off but Im not really into the HOF. I think it should be the absolute best of the best to get in or there should be an active HOF and then a section with guys who were HOFers but no longer make the cut. Im in the minority here but the whole thing is silly anyways.makesnosense wrote: ↑29 Aug 2025 18:04 pmNo because some like to pick and choose. That’s your opinion everyone was stained equally. Stained equally in your mind not in everyone’s. I believe in innocent until proven guilty bonds and McGwire admitted they used. If some one shows me some proof Pujols used I’ll use it im not going to listen to some nut who says on line oh pujols used sure I have no proof I’m just saying something without a shred of proof or someone who says you should believe everyone used just because McGwire and bonds used that’s crazy. Innocent until proven guilty not guilty until proven innocent I say. If you want to believe everyone is guilty because bonds cheated and McGwire that’s cool but I don’t. And no I disagree that because some are guilty that means everyone is guilty it’s silly and makes no sensealw80 wrote: ↑29 Aug 2025 12:06 pmEveryone is stained equally therefore it doesn't matter.
