No way. Army doesn't like critique from the fan base. St Louis is one of the very few towns that gives him that.

Why would he move to a high cost of living area when he can live in Bleedr's head rent free?

Which western conf. team has the most wins since DA was promoted to GM in 2010?
He makes mistakes, but the only guys who don't make mistakes are the guys who don't make any moves. It's awesome how quickly he went after Monty when the Bruins fired him. Riding it out with Bannister would have been painful for both players and fans.

Army is not some hockey "whisperer." He won one Cup in fifteen years. Even then the Blues actually caught fire after being the worst team in the league. Army's in his 60's and has plenty of money for retirement. I'm sure he doesn't want another challenge at this point. Also, if this plan was in the works, why isn't Toronto approaching the Blues about buying him out of his contract? They aren't going to sit around until Army is ready to move.

TBH, Doug Armstrong takes pride in Team Canada. I always said it would not surprise me for him to join the Leafs, as Leaf Nation would go crazy plus I think it would be good for the franchise.

Maybe in the daylight of one's career, but not at the sunset - not with that level of scrutiny and the time it takes to build the team you may want. Just my opinion..

Army said in one of his interviews that he doesn't plan to retire once his Blues contract ends. Not sure exactly what that means and if he will feel the same way in a few years.

I think it's a lot more likely than people expect. The man is alive with competition as we sit here right now. Nobody alive with competition wants to put it down

It seems like some people may not realize that he becomes Steen's boss after this season. He has already signed a 3 year contract to become president of hockey operations for the Blues after this season.

I agree ... but it boils down to what he really wants to do, and I see some evidence he is both doing the smart thing (going out in this designed transition) and also consumed with competition, which has a way of changing people's minds about the ends of their career. Just saying.

Right and I agree with you. I am just pointing out that some people seem to think he is retiring. Stillman respects DA and wants Steen to continue to use DA as a resource. DA is actually gaining power. I am not suggesting this but under the scope of his new title he could conceivably eventually fire Steen and hire a different GM. Not likely, since Steen was DA's choice as his replacement. Just an example of the power that title most likely carries.
