I don’t believe Willson told him to eff off, and that’s what set him off because the ump claims he did. Willson deserves whatever the league gives him, but the umpire should also be fined or suspended if indeed, Willson never said what the umpire claims to have heard.

Agree and Cardinals don't need player like him,
If you get rid of all the hot heads in professional sports not many left.

I remember getting blasted a couple of months back when I said he wasn't a good signing. Most on here thought he was a piece to build around. Look at his career numbers. He's only a good player, not anything to build around. I doubt anyone will own up but.....
He also doesn’t have a ‘build around’ contract.
Precisely. His contract is more than reasonable for his contributions. Contreras isn't a superstar and isn't being paid as one. He is a very good supporting player. Unfortunately, the team has no superstars for him to support.

Why do you ask? Why do you care? Since you are an Astro fan, are you satisfied with how that franchise has penalized their staff and players for cheating?

Some of their players could have been fined and/or suspended - and that did not happen - by the team or MLB.

Well…..let’s walk through your premise

Over the course of that season probably 30- 35 players came and went in that dugout….are you going to suspend or fine all of them….? Including those who were there only a few weeks…?

And how much would you fine them….all the same?

The rookie mid relief pitcher the same as bregman???

And what is the appropriate fine…for each player..?

The sign stealing was in 17….it came to light to in 19.

By then, many players had moved on to other clubs…..so you want to contact the Mets and tell them their third baseman is suspended?

I could go on…but the big hammer is the union…they would never allow what you are proposing…

As for mlb ….they wanted it to go away quickly….because they were concerned the issues with Boston and the Yankees would come to light.

Perhaps you need to rethink your position?

The cheating was bad……and embarrassing…

I mean trash cans….really?

Now hacking into a computer system……that is some sophisticated cheating…

Refresh my memory, did the G M get fired over that?

I for one, think we should fire the GM and Manager over this incident too.

He's not an elite ball player either. Neither here, nor there.

Only MLB per CBA can hand down on field suspensions

Read my post again. I did not suggest what should have been done, only what was not done, and of course you missed that fact.

Refresh my memory, did MLB find that anyone else on the team was even aware of the actions of the one person who used the password given to him by Luhnow to login to the Astros system?

There was the stupidity of Luhnow for sharing his password with Correa and then re-using it at Houston and then the stupidity of Correa for using it just because he suspected Luhnow stole intellectual property from his former employer.

MLB found no proof Luhnow stole intellectual property of the Cardinals. He was not punished. It doesn't mean he didn't steal it; it simply means they found no evidence of it. That would be very difficult to prove anyway.

MLB also found no proof anyone else on the Cardinals knew about Correa's adventures. Therefore, no one else was punished but the Cardinals had to give 2 draft picks to Houston just in case they benefited from their employee's crime. Why would they fire a GM for something they could not prove he or anyone other than the one criminal actor knew about? You are trolling to defer attention away from your own team's embarrassment. Obviously it is possible someone else knew and MLB just couldn't find evidence. However, it is a bit of a stretch to believe the the Cardinals believed the Astro's scouting information was better than their own scouting information. After all they were still the Houston Lastros until 2015.

MLB found dozens of Astros employees participated in the trash can scheme using electronics to steal signs which is explicitly forbidden by the rules. The trash cans were just the means of communication. The electronic sign stealing was the crime and this crime actually falls under the category of "hacking" (unauthorized access to data). The hacking wasn't done directly by the manager or players but they all certainly participated and were all knowledgeable it has happening. Obviously the GM had to be held directly accountable.

Surely you see that one rogue employee for the Cards using unauthorized access to the Astros scouting data pales in comparison to dozens of employees of the Astros using unauthorized access to other team's data about what pitch was going to be thrown next. The Astros were clearly the superior hackers.
