Jets are down to 3 QBs with Taylor #2 behind Fields and it looks like Cook is #3. Rarely do teams only keep 2 on the 53 man roster, so this bodes well for Cook.

Love to see it. The things Cook is good at do lend themselves to the backup QB position, where playing it safe is usually the name of the game. The article calls out Martinez’s penchant for turnover worthy plays too.

I do wish it wasn’t the dysfunctional Jets but hey “chaos is a ladder”.

I watched Martinez here at UNL, and he actually threw off the wrong foot. Stepped right, threw right. Even a kid knows better. Must have hooked up with a decent coach.

So I tried to look this up the other day when you mentioned teams rarely keeping two QB’s. There isn’t really any data out there since rosters are so fluid at the bottom, which duh I should’ve known.

But I did find some stuff about how teams are most likely to keep two QB’s on their initial roster, since you can make changes before each game. So here is hoping Cook makes a couple game day rosters, because if that happens then we know New York is saying we’d be okay if this guy has to play.
