Starting pitching

I went to fangraphs. Sorted starting pitchers minimum 50 innings pitcher ERA. Cardinals top two are Liberatore at #92 and Gray at #94. Remaining player who return next season McGreevy at #116 and Pallante at #129.

I freely admit to not liking DH baseball or watching any games but it seems to me even in this chaotic era no team can make the playoffs with that level of starting pitching. Top 2 on the staff are borderline 3/4 level starters. Biggest need for next season is starting pitching - and not just filler like Gibson/Lynn/Fedde who they have signed the last couple seasons. This team needs a couple 1/2 starters.

Completely agree. When I watch other MLB games on TV, I see LOTS of SPs with better stuff and better command than our crew. Bloom and Cerfolio have a LONG way to go to get this MLB rotation into contention for the post season. The worst news is that the biggest need is at the top of the rotation. As you stated, we don't need any more #3s, #4s or #5s.
