Re: Contreas deserves hefty fine and suspension
How long would you suspend him?
I would give him 15 games.
I would give him 15 games.

Well Robles threw his bat at he pitcher while rehabbing and it was intentional. Obviously Contras wasn't trying to hit someone. So whatever Victor Robles got would set that mark. He got ten games. So I would expect Contras to be between 5 and ten.Lightning Rod wrote: ↑25 Aug 2025 22:01 pmHopefully the punishment is stiff.TopofthePerch wrote: ↑25 Aug 2025 21:59 pmNot defending just not ready to crucify someone for losing their cool because it happens. The Marmot is an idiot.Red7 wrote: ↑25 Aug 2025 22:08 pmIt certainly was. It’s why he got dumped so quickly. It’s one thing to beef on a borderline or even a missed call, but down cock and center? Nope. Oli getting dumped was just as stupid. It’s one thing to have you player’s back, but to keep it up until you get dumped is just dumb.
Every time he gets tossed it is 100% contrived theatre.
There is nothing real about any of his disputes with umpires.
All show.

MLB ruling just came out: Three sessions with counselor Tommy Pham and will write his name on the chalkboard 100 times. If it is not neat enough, he will have to write it 100 more times.

Re: Contreas deserves hefty fine and suspension
10-15 games sounds about right to me.
Contreas is not liked by umpires or other players in league so that doesn’t help his case.
His act wears on everybody
It’s old and contrived, dude has a screw loose

Contreas did hit Brant Brown in face with bat
So your intent theory is [nonsense]

Nonsense.
The umpire said nothing inappropriate.
He may or may not have misheard Contreras - but he said nothing "pretty bad".

Who might Contreras have been throwing the bat at?
Probably safer had it been at a specific person as opposed to randomly flinging it amongst a crowd.
Why are we defending or making light of awful behavior?
Re: Contreas deserves hefty fine and suspension
I wasn’t defending Willson, Dude, I was just relaying what I saw on the replay. However, the umpire is not innocent in this either.hmoss859 wrote: ↑25 Aug 2025 22:13 pmIt doesn’t matter what was said dude, Contreas crossed a line you don’t cross, throwing a bat is tabooHoosier59 wrote: ↑25 Aug 2025 22:11 pm After watching the replay, Willson asked the umpire why he threw him out of the game. He deserves whatever punishment the league throws at him

Contreras threw it at an umpire.TopofthePerch wrote: ↑25 Aug 2025 22:16 pmWell Victor Robles got ten and he deliberately threw the bat towards the pitcher. So I can't see it being more than that.
Big difference.
He also threw his helmet and a bucket.

He deserves whatever punishment the league throws at him
Which is very much out of character for you.
You have no idea what the umpire did or did not say.

Wow. No way you can compare passion to reckless violence. I love his passion for the game, but hes taken this to roid-rage territory.TopofthePerch wrote: ↑25 Aug 2025 21:34 pmYea and he will take responsibility for his actions. That’s stupidity, not passion
He’s a fake tough guy
Re: Contreas deserves hefty fine and suspension
There’s nothing tough about a dude with a screw loose.
He is unstable and prone to stupid mistakes on the field
A hot head

If he were still a Cubbie, there would be no talk about passion. He's now become Zambrano on steroids.RamFan08NY wrote: ↑25 Aug 2025 22:28 pmWow. No way you can compare passion to reckless violence.
